Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 95 miles from Winterhaven to Slab City, California. We’ll move on later this morning.
Yesterday was a sunny day at 65 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 66 degrees.
I’ve been to this very unique place many times. Mary has been here once before, really liked it and wanted to return. For me it’s a convenient mid-place stopping point between Yuma, Arizona and Palm Desert, California where we plan to arrive tomorrow. In addition, I stop here to see my friend Leo Perth who usually spends the Winter here. I last visited here for one day on December 19, 2013. During my last visit here, I told Leo Mary and I would stop to see him during the first week in February and he said okay. But when we arrived yesterday afternoon, Leo wasn’t here, so we parked in his spot. The regulars here will put up an occupied sign to save “their” spot from year to year…

I have two phone numbers for Leo which I called yesterday and as of this time haven’t heard from him yet. Hopefully I’ll here from him today and all is okay with him.
While not the most spectacular I’ve ever seen, yesterday’s sunset was pretty…
