Some Maintenance Work…

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort along the bank of the Skykomish River in Monroe, Washington. I’ll depart here July 5th.

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 25 miles to Everett, Washington and the workshop on my good friend and cracker-jack mechanic, Kenny Coleman. He replaced the serpentine and air conditioning belts, spark plugs and wires, cleaned the throttle body and replaced a MAP sensor.

Here are some photos I took…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

A good portion of the work was done thru the hole in the doghouse cover…

Here’s Kenny at work…

Down in that hole gives access to the throttle body valve…

I’ve been suspicious that a dirty throttle body valve is behind the STILL intermittent reduced engine power problem I’ve had for the last year or so…

Kenny said he did not think that’s the problem, but cleaned it anyways. He convinced me to replace a $78 small sensor that he believes will fix that problem. I’ve got my fingers crossed that’s what will happen.

Here’s Kenny changing the belts…

2.5 hours later all the work was completed. In addition to being a cracker-jack mechanic, Kenny is also a cracker-jack computer guy. I described a problem that first started showing up on my six-year laptop computer a few days ago and he confirmed that my video card is getting ready to bite the dust. A non-repairable item. So, it looks like a new computer will be coming into my life in the near future.

A nice one-hour long phone call this morning from my son made my Fathers Day! That’s why today’s posting is late.

Life is good! Onward and forward we go!!!  🙂

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

Yesterday was mostly cloudy and 62 degrees. Forecast for today is partly sunny and 72 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Lunch with A Friend – Monroe, Washington

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about the beginning of October, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

Today’s subject…

Yesterday I had lunch with my long-time friend Al Penta. We met 66 years ago while in the 5th grade in Revere, Massachusetts. Al has lived in Monroe for many years and we meet for lunch every time I roll through this area. He remains in really good physical condition because of walking a mailman’s route for 30 years. He remains a very active bicyclist.

What a difference 66 years makes! Fortunately we are both alive and well and hopefully will be so for a while yet!

I hope you enjoyed the photos!

Uncompleted Satsop Nuclear Power Station – Elma, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 21st year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 45 miles from Shelton to Southworth, Washington. I’m parked in the yard of my friend Ned Bedinger. I’ll depart later this morning.

(Note: I’m currently a little discombobulated right now. My normal mode is to blog what I experienced yesterday. Right now, I’m several blogs behind my experiences. I expect to be back in my normal mode within a couple of weeks.)

Last Thursday I visited the uncompleted Satsop Nuclear Power Station at Elma, Washington.

To grasp an understanding of this project, you should click this link…

I have a history with this facility. Take a moment and read this blog I posted June 24, 2009 by clicking this link…

Here’s what brought me to live in WA in 1980…

This time Mary was not with me. I went to the site which is now called the Satsop Business Park. You can view their website explaining its current role by clicking this link…

I met for about an hour with Ross Read, the Director of Operations. I told him about my past here and he told me about his role here since 2003…

It felt somewhat eerie returning to a place where I worked 35 years ago. I found my stop here most interesting. Thanks again to Ross Read.

Lunch With A Friend In Anacortes, Washington

The motorhome is parked the Thousand Trails RV Resort located in La Conner, Washington. I’ve been here several times in past years. My membership allows a maximum of a three-week stay, out for one-week and then you can return to the first park. My departure date is September 2nd.

I’m just hanging out taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

Mary’s personal to-do list plate, which can only be handled by herself, continues to over-flow. Recently we acknowledged that her meeting up with me in September, just is not going to happen.   😦

I’ll next likely see her when I arrive at her home in November. A friend recently expressed a concern about the status of our relationship. Not to worry…it continues to function per our original agreement when we met in October, 2008. That is…I remain on the road and she will join me when her other life allows. We talk every day on the phone…sometimes more than once. It’s just the way life is!

Yesterday I had lunch with a delightful friend. I met Beverly Malland a number of years ago and we have remained friends over the years and distance of my travels. She has lived in Anacortes, Washington for lots of years…

A Missing Friend…

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 95 miles from Winterhaven to Slab City, California. We’ll move on later this morning.

Yesterday was a sunny day at 65 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 66 degrees.

I’ve been to this very unique place many times. Mary has been here once before, really liked it and wanted to return. For me it’s a convenient mid-place stopping point between Yuma, Arizona and Palm Desert, California where we plan to arrive tomorrow. In addition, I stop here to see my friend Leo Perth who usually spends the Winter here. I last visited here for one day on December 19, 2013. To read about that visit, click this link… http://wp.me/pDCku-9I6

During my last visit here, I told Leo Mary and I would stop to see him during the first week in February and he said okay. But when we arrived yesterday afternoon, Leo wasn’t here, so we parked in his spot. The regulars here will put up an occupied sign to save “their” spot from year to year…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

DSC08577

I have two phone numbers for Leo which I called yesterday and as of this time haven’t heard from him yet. Hopefully I’ll here from him today and all is okay with him.

While not the most spectacular I’ve ever seen, yesterday’s sunset was pretty…
