La Connor To Bow, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 22 miles from La Connor to the Thousand Trails Mount Vernon RV Resort located in Bow, a few miles north of Mount Vernon, Washington. I’ll depart here August 2nd.

I’ve been here several times in past years. My membership allows a maximum of a three-week stay, out for one-week and then you can return to the first park.

I’m just hanging out taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

Bow, Washington has a population of 6,099, and as a child, the famous CBS news correspondent Edward R. Murrow lived here.

The below Google Earth images show the relative locations. The upper right is Bow and lower left is La Conner which I’ll move back to after my nine-day stay here…

While the campground appears to be near Interstate Highway 5, it is buffeted heavily by beautiful tall fir trees. Only a little very low highway noise can be heard when the wind is out of the west…

There are a number of reasons that this area is my favorite place to spend the summer, such as: scenic beauty, agreeable climate, clean air, friendly people, and no bugs are some.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

Forecast for today is sunny and 79 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Hoh Rainforest – Washington

The motorhome is parked at the Bogachiel State Park Campground about six miles south of Forks, Washington. We will depart later this morning..

Yesterday I drove the Bronco 25 miles to the Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic National Park. The below Google Earth image shows its location marked by an “H”. The “X” marks our camping location.

You can read all about the Hoh Rainforest which receives an average of 155 inches of rain a year by clicking this Wikipedia link…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoh_Rainforest

Yesterday was a 84 degree hot sunny day. The bright sun background as we walked the Trail of Mosses and a bit of The Spruce Trail and the shade and irregular moss patterns made for extremely difficult photography. Hence a lot look abstract in nature…

Here are some of the photos that I took…
