Just for the record… I do not purposefully hunt these types of videos. They randomly present themselves as I watch general YouTube videos while eating my breakfast.

This is the tenth video which I guess is becoming a series about how politicians are destroying our beautiful country… in this case… They intend to tax us into socialism…

Click this link to see famed political commentator Bill O’Reilly discuss this matter. Today being tax due date seems like a good time to be hearing this message…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in Palm Desert, California. I’ll depart here later this morning.

If you are a regular follower of this blog, you know that my ex-travel partner/companion has not traveled with me since September 2014 and that we remain good friends.

You will also know she is dealing with colon cancer issues.

Prior to today, this had been her last communique dated March 14th…

https://otrwjam.wordpress.com/2019/03/14/one-year-ago-today-4/

Yesterday I received another email which follows below. In a phone conversation yesterday she told me that after her first round of chemo, one tumor had shrunk 53% and the second 70%. Certainly good news!

Here’s yesterday’s email sent to family and friends…

Hi everyone,

I’ve signed on with Dr. Cho at the Cal. St. University of Davis, Cancer Center in Sacramento.
I’ve had two appointments with Dr. Cho and she uses a drug called Keytruda, which is, like chemo, not a sure cure, but with continuous treatments over a period of years, it can extend your life, maybe enough to get to a place where immunotherapy using DNA modification is actually available to the general public. IF the Keytruda works? It works for 40 % of people who try it. One infusion every three weeks and no more chemo-which is very hard on older people-Dr. Cho informed me.
Keytruda has many side effects, some are really horrible, but for others they are mild. Or, maybe it just isn’t working for me. I won’t know until my sixth session on Keytruda. It doesn’t kill healthy cells, a great plus. So, after one infusion, I have a bit of nausea and my food doesn’t taste like it is supposed to. It is so little for such a chance to gain so much.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to hire a woman to help me with my genealogy, so it will actually get finished in a timely manner. I’m doing, the Dionnes, the Moores and the Matzeks. All three. And, I enjoy the doing.

So, there you have what I consider good news. Hope is always good news. I’m sure I’m benefiting from all of your prayers.

I hope you enjoyed the message.

Forecast for today is sunny and 86 degrees. Too danged hot for me…time to move on!

New destination forecast is sunny and 64 degrees.

Harlingen, Texas Day 4 (GA345)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 23rd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolaus, California. I’m scheduled to depart May 11th.

This entry was posted December 23, 2012

Mary is at her home in California enjoying the holiday season with her family. She has made her airline reservations to join me here at Harlingen, Texas on January 3, 2013.

The motorhome is parked at Tropic Winds RV Resort and is scheduled to be here until January 10th. While I await Mary’s arrival on the 3rd, I’ll be seeing some local attractions, performing repairs and preventative maintenance on both the motorhome and Bronco, plus thoroughly cleaning both vehicles.

Today’s entry is entitled…17 going on 18!

Back on December 23, 1995, I departed Olympia, Washington to begin my full-time RVing lifestyle. At that time I had a  1976 Chevy Suburban and a 1988 Fleetwood Prowler 18′ Travel Trailer which I had until 1999. I tend to take really good care of and do not abuse my vehicles so I get a long-time use from them…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

After spending the Winter of 98-99 in Baja California Sur, Mexico…I decided I needed to change rigs because I wanted a small 4-wheel drive vehicle with which I could use to go off into the back-country. I also had a hankering that I might want to go to Central America, so I looked around for something that if it didn’t come back from Central America…it wouldn’t be the end of the World. In 1999, I ended up buying this 1983 23′ Suncrest Class A Motorhome and a 1984 Ford Bronco II…

#11

I used these vehicles on a 2004, 343 day, 16,000+ mile RV trip through Mexico and Central America, crossing the Panama Canal until we ran out of roads and had to begin our return journey. As it turned out, both vehicles returned from Central America.

I met Mary in 2008 and the only problem she had with that motorhome was that she had no place to do her yoga…so the answer to that problem was to get another motorhome. By that time the 1984 Ford Bronco II was getting tired…so time for a replacement as well. In 2009 we acquired our current rigs of a 2006 Fleetwood Terra 26′ Class A Motorhome and a nice 1986 Ford Bronco II…

So as you read this Blog entry today, I’m completing my 17th and beginning my 18th year of full-time RVing. I turned 72, 18 days ago. I hope to be the World’s first 100-year-old active RVer!  🙂

Enjoying 17 years on the road is another joy of the full-time RVing lifestyle!

Four Corners, USA (GA134)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Mount Vernon RV Resort at Bow, Washington. I’ll depart here August 2nd..

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2011-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted June 6, 2012…

After a 12 day visit to Canyon de Chelly near Chinle, Arizona, I drove the motorhome 140 miles to Cortez, Colorado yesterday.

It was the first time for me to drive the motorhome since the tragic accident ten days ago. My chest is still wrapped with the  elastic bandage and I’m still taking my pain medications. I really would have preferred a shorter trip for the first day, but this area is so remote I had to drive that far to reach this city with a population of 8,284 at an elevation of 6,200 feet. We passed through a lot of empty space yesterday.. Mary took this photo with my camera…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Along the way we passed through a location known as Four Corners. This is the only place in the United States where four states intersect at one point…Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. Through the magic of Google Earth, I can show you an image of what it looks like directly overhead from an elevation of 6,367 feet above the site. Since this image has due North at the top of your computer screen, you can see the four states. Like looking at a clock, 12-3 is Colorado,  3-6 is New Mexico, 6-9 is Arizona and 9-12 is Utah…

The site is maintained by the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department. Here’s their official website link…
http://www.navajonationparks.org/htm/fourcorners.htm

Down on the ground, this is what it looks like…

The marker is in the center of this plaza…

Once there, everyone performs this ritual. Here’s Mary doing her thing. Her left arm is in New Mexico, her right arm in Arizona, her right foot in Utah and her left foot in Colorado…

In each quadrant there is a brass replica of each state’s seal…

The area is really remote…no electricity, no running water, no telephones…for miles. I took this photo looking North…Utah on the left, Colorado on the right…

40 miles later we arrived in Cortez, Colorado where we are parked at American Legion Post #75…

I expect we will be in this area for 2-3 days…seeing the sights.

Ansel Adams…The View From Here (GA27)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon RV Resort at Acton, California. I’m expecting to depart here March 27th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2012-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted February 21, 2012…

Ansel Adams is probably the best known photographer of all time. While in the Tucson, Arizona I stumbled upon the fact that an Ansel Adams exhibit was currently in progress at the University of Arizona. If you are a regular follower of my Blog, you know that I have been an avid photographer since 1974. Along the way, I in addition to many other classes, I have studied at The Camera Club of New York City and also attended the Nikon School of Photography. During these classes I have studied the works of Ansel Adams.

The Center For Creative Photography is located at the University of Arizona Libraries in Tucson, Arizona. Mary and I visited there this past Sunday after our visit to Barrio Historico. Much better to be in downtown Tucson on a Sunday than on a weekday with all the traffic and people. Yuk! The exhibit is entitled…The View From Here.

This is the entrance to the building…

As expected…photography was not allowed in the gallery. So I snuck this photo through the window of the door…

If you are not familiar with Ansel Adams, you should click this Wikipedia link…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansel_Adams

You might also enjoy the information contained in these two links…
http://www.anseladams.org/
http://www.anseladams.com/

When you enjoy doing a particular thing, you generally cannot go wrong studying the masters of the thing. When you consider the equipment of the day back in Adam’s time…huge bulky cameras on tripods…then be willing to haul all this stuff into the back wilderness…that is what makes a master.

Years ago I was much more serious about my photography. When I moved out of my last regular home in 1995 (to begin my life as a full-time RVer)…in which I had a studio and darkroom…I also decided to sell all of my expensive camera equipment. The truth be told…back then…good photography required a lot of work. When I decided to retire…I also decided I did not want to work that hard on my photography any longer. So I bought a $100 Nikon film camera and went along my way.

However…with the advent of digital cameras…good photography is not all that much work any longer. A basic knowledge of composition/lighting rules and use of a basic image altering program such as Picasa 3 is all that is needed today to create some nice photographs. I wonder what Ansel Adams would have thought about today’s equipment and technology associated with photography? I bet he would really have enjoyed a camera like my Sony DSC-HX5V…

Sure beats hauling around a huge bulky camera on a tripod and all the associated equipment!
