Yesterday was the first decent weather day I’ve experienced in a long time. Even though the temperature got to 81…the humidity was only 40%. Combined with a sunny/cloudy day and a pleasant all-day breeze, it was most enjoyable. During my yesterday’s morning walk is was 68 degrees…today 20 degrees cooler at 48.

Forecast high temperature for today is 69 degrees. Yes! Mucho Bettero!

We’ll continue our westward travel later this morning.

Enjoying friendly VFW Posts is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

A Final Look At Rockhound State Park – Deming, New Mexico (GA56)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails San Benito RV Resort, Paicines, California. I’ll depart from here April 19th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2012-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted March 21, 2012…

I’ve been here for ten nights and the high winds and colder temperatures are finally gone and it’s time for me to roll along. I thought I’d share with you a final look of this nice state park…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Approaching the park from about two miles away…

A closer view where the abundant pansy flowers cover the mountain side…

Through the magic of Google Earth a beautiful view of the Little Florida Mountains. X marks my campsite location…

Last Sunday we had sustained 45-50 mile per hour winds…with frequent gusts to 70+ miles per hour. To show the effects of that wind…compare the next two photos which are or less the same photos. This first on was taken on March 12th…with no wind…

And next on Sunday March 18th with winds gusting to 70+ miles per hour.  On the valley floor its blowing sand…up higher the resulting dust obscures the background mountains so that they are barely seen…

And how about just one more spectacular desert sunset photo…

Finally a Deming, New Mexico sunrise (about ten miles distant) as seen through the windshield of the motorhome…

The desert is such an awesome place. It’s been a very enjoyable stay at this scenic New Mexico State Park.

Today’s destination is City of Rocks State Park.

Going to museums and understanding the history of the areas we visit is one of our very favorite things to do in our RVing lifestyle.

In other news…

Yesterday Mary visited a friend from the area. I spent two hours on the cellphone with Verizon troubleshooting our intermittent Internet signal, got the Bronco washed and spent a good part of the day reading.

I Had A Visitor Yesterday…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Palm Springs RV Resort at Palm Desert, California. Mary remains at home and I expecting her to rejoin me in mid-January.

I was outside of the motorhome yesterday when I notice I had a visitor. Since my camera was inside the motorhome, I said “Don’t go away, I’ll be right back!” I managed to get these shots before my visitor went along his/her way…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort along the shore of Skagit Bay in LaConner, Washington. I’ve been here a number of times over the past years and always enjoy it here. It’s my favorite resort in the entire Thousand Trails system. My departure date is July 29th.

Mary is at home tending to personal matters…home maintenance, family, friends, rentals, etc..  She has made her flight reservations to meet me July 29th in Bellingham, Washington.
