The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Conner, Washington. I’m scheduled to depart here July 9th.

Yesterday morning at 5:15 am, I looked out of my dinette window and saw a neat view which lasted less than two minutes.

The reason for the short time frame was that the log was caught in the out going tide. From behind the leaves of the trees it moved right to left, then lost from view by more tree leaves. And now you get to see the log and who was hitching a ride…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Neat!!!!

I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Forecast for today is rain showers and 67 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Sunrise Over Skagit Bay – La Conner, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 21st year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington. I’ve been here many times before. I’ll depart here tomorrow.

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about the beginning of October, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

(Note: I’m currently a little discombobulated right now. My normal mode is to blog what I experienced yesterday. Right now, I’m a number of blogs behind my experiences. I expect to be back in my normal mode in about three weeks.)

Today’s subject…

About one month ago I was parked at Thousand Trails in La Conner, Washington where I have visited many times over the years. Lots of pretty sunrises and sunsets there. Here’s just one sunrise…

Here are some of the photos that I took…

This area of Washington has always been one of my very favorite locations in all of the United States. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the air is fresh and clean, it seldom gets too hot or cold, there are virtually no bugs or mosquitos and the people are very friendly. I’ve been coming here for years and know the area very well. It’s my very favorite place to go to during the Summer…that’s why I keep returning.

Today’s subject…

Ever see a Black Heron? I had never seen one myself until 30 minutes after sunset last evening. The following twelve photos prove that I really saw it…     ( 🙂 )

GOOGLE JUST DROPPED ALL PICASA WEB ALBUMS IN FAVOR OF GOOGLE PHOTOS WHICH I HATE! ALL OF OUR 4000+ BLOGS THAT HAD A PICASA WEB ALBUM INCLUDED NO LONGER ALLOW VIEWING THOSE PHOTOS! I SEE LITTLE CHOICE BUT TO LIVE WITH THE SITUATION.

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about the beginning of October, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

Two days ago I arrived at this beautiful campground.

The park was probably built during the 1970’s and is located on land leased from the Swinomish Indian Tribe for 99 years. This area of Washington has always been one of my very favorite locations in all of the United States. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the air is fresh and clean, it seldom gets too hot or cold, there are virtually no bugs or mosquitos and the people are very friendly. In 2001 and 2002 I worked here for the summer selling park memberships. I’ve been coming here for years and know the area very well. It’s my very favorite place to go to during the Summer…that’s why I keep returning.

Here’s a Google Earth view of the campground which is located on one-half mile of Puget Sound waterfront…

Another Beautiful Skagit Bay Sunset – La Conner, Washington

The motorhome is parked the Thousand Trails RV Resort located in La Conner, Washington. I’ve been here several times in past years. My departure date is September 2nd.

I’m just hanging out taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

Mary’s personal to-do list plate, which can only be handled by herself, continues to over-flow. Recently we acknowledged that her meeting up with me in September, just is not going to happen.   😦

I’ll next likely see her when I arrive at her home in November. A friend recently expressed a concern about the status of our relationship. Not to worry…it continues to function per our original agreement when we met in October, 2008. That is…I remain on the road and she will join me when her other life allows. We talk every day on the phone…sometimes more than once. It’s just the way life is!

2015 Swinomish Indian Tribe Salmon Harvest – La Conner, Washington

The motorhome is parked the Thousand Trails RV Resort located in La Conner, Washington. I’ve been here several times in past years. My membership allows a maximum of a three-week stay, out for one-week and then you can return to the first park.

In my 16 years acquaintance with this Thousand Trails RV Resort…I’ve managed to see the Swinomish Indian salmon harvest about five times. It does not occur every year. The resort is located on leased land from the Swinomish Indian Tribe. Five days ago I published a blog entry about this event…not knowing it was about to happen again…yesterday.

If you missed that blog entry, you can see it by clicking this link…http://wp.me/pDCku-crX

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Looking out my dinette window yesterday morning, seeing the net buoys, I knew it was going to happen again…

I grabbed my camera and walked over to the vantage point…

Unlike past years, there were a lot fewer people involved…

The net is finally in…

From a distance the average seems to be in the 5-10 pound range…

The catch seemed fewer in numbers than past years…

I’m uncertain what type of salmon they are…

DSC07368

The best way to get them into the storage bins is via air mail…

In past years. I’ve only seen them do only one netting. Yesterday  they kept at it all day long…

At eight o’clock at night they were still at it as seen in the upper left here…

It’s most enjoyable to watch such a tradition that has gone on for a very long time.

When I turned in at 9 PM they had some bright lights and were still at it.
