The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington.

Yesterday morning I drove Mary to Seatac Airport south of Seattle Washington, She has some important business that needs her attention at home back in California…

With two people in the Bronco we were able to use the diamond lane and made it to the airport in 45 minutes. I then drove the 12 north to the VA Hospital where I had my first professional eye exam. I was told I have a cataract in my right eye and received a prescription to purchase prescription glasses. A couple of hours later my annual physical exam (which I missed last year because I was in New Mexico) went very well. No problems identified. Unable now to use the diamond lane, the ride back to the motorhome took 1.5 hours during the afternoon rush traffic. Makes me wonder why it’s called rush traffic!  🙂

Renewing my drivers license, and my VA exams accomplished completes two of the three reasons for returning to the Pacific Northwest. The third reason, having my friend and mechanic Kenny do some mechanical work on the Bronco and motorhome awaits completion. With heavy rain forecast for the weekend when we were supposed to get the work done, now may interfere with those plans. One Day At A Time is the order of the day!

Yesterday was a cloudy/sunny cool day. High temperature for the day was 63.

Forecast high temperature for today is 57 degrees, cloudy with rain developing.

Monroe, Washington – Day 2

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington.

Most of yesterday was dedicated to getting ready for today. Laundry day, etc… This morning I’ll drive Mary to SeaTac Airport south of Seattle. She has pressing business at home and needs to return early. After dropping her off, I’ll head to the Seattle VA Hospital for an eye and annual physical exam which I missed last year because I was in New Mexico.

I expect to arrive at Mary’s home with the motorhome not later than October 15th.

Not a lot of interesting activity yesterday. The only photos were of the Snohomish River taken from the motorhome kitchen window at dusk….

Monroe, Washington – Day 1

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 90 miles from Leavenworth to Monroe, Washington.

We continued traveling along U.S.Highway 2 West.

Here are some of the photos that I took along the way…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Shortly after starting our day on the road we saw snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountains…

After crossing Stevens Pass at 4,111 feet of elevation we ran into some fog on our decent…

We arrived at our destination of Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort on the Ben Howard Road in Monroe. Our campsite is to the right of this stand of tall trees along the banks of the Snohomish River…

After dropping her off, I’ll go to the Seattle VA Hospital for an eye exam and my annual physical…which I missed last year. I’ll remain here for a few more days having some work done on the Bronco and hopefully the motorhome by my friend and mechanic, Kenny. Once the work is completed, I’ll head for Mary’s home in California.

Yesterday was a cloudy and cold day with some showers. High temperature for the day was 57.

Forecast high temperature for today is 61 degrees and sunny with a shower.

Monroe, Washington

Yesterday Mary and I arrived at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington. I’m here for a two-week stay and on Monday I’ll drive Mary, the about 50 miles, to Seattle/Tacoma International Airport. She’s heading first to Southern California for a grandson’s high school graduation…then she’ll drive with her oldest daughter to Las Vegas, Nevada for another grandson’s high school graduation. Then she’ll fly to her home in Central California for a family reunion and also attend to lots of miscellaneous business. I’m hoping to get her back with me on July 13th.

In the meanwhile, I’ll hang out here in Monroe for two weeks. I have a life-long friend who lives just up the road from our campgound…so I’ll get a chance to visit some with him. In addition, my cracker-jack mechanic friend Mike also lives here in Monroe. I’ve got several items for him to attend to on our Ford Bronco II. All together I’m expecting a couple of days working with Mike.

I have always really liked Monroe and always look forward to returning to this area. After my two weeks here are up, I’ll move the motorhome about 75 miles northwest to the Thousand Trails RV Resort in LaConnor, Washington…another of my favorite places! As I’ve said a number of times in the past…it’s a lousy job, but someone’s got to do it!
