The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Conner, Washington. I”ll depart here tomorrow morning.

Today… A trip down memory lane!

2004 Central America trip…

This trip ended up being 343 days and 16,000+ miles through the back-country of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. 11 rigs started the trip, within a week we broke into three smaller groups for ease of traveling. Only myself and one other rig went the full, pre-planned route. All the others dropped out for various reasons. All returned safely to the United States. I’m planning to show these photos, more or less, 10 a day, whenever I’m not doing something else deserving a blog entry. FINALLY, it must be remembered these photos are prior to my switching to digital in 2006. The films were developed during our trip and the lack of quality control sometimes is plainly evident.

Today…Honduras (south-bound) #6…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Today we are still in Miami, Honduras…

In yesterday’s blog posting we saw a canoe returning from the Caribbean Sea. In addition to a solo man it also contained a rather large fish. Here the fish is being cleaned…

#302

Pieces are shared with other community members…

#303

The fish doesn’t look terribly happy about this event…

#304

Life is definitely slow-paced here in Miami…

#305

Although youngsters enjoy kicking a soccer ball…

#306

A fancy above-the-ground burial site…

#307 (1)

Some are not near as fancy…

#308 (1)

The graveyard…

#310

This bike was the only vehicle we saw during our enjoyable day in Miami…one of our more interesting visits during the entire trip…

Grafton, West Virginia (GA496)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 23rd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolaus, California. I’m scheduled to depart here November 7th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted May 20, 2013…

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the about 30 miles from Clarksburg to Tygart Lake State Park near Grafton, West Virginia. As soon as we left Clarksburg, U.S. Highway 50 dropped from four to two lanes.

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

The grades, both up and down became steeper and curvier as we advance into the Appalachian Mountains..

001

Leaving highway 50, the route to Tygart Lake State Park took us on streets with only inches to spare between telephone poles and vehicles…

003

After what seemed like forever…we finally got there. Between the small, tight campground and the unevenness of the ground it took about an hour to finally get settled in…

Here’s the usual dinette window photo…

Here’s what my neighbor had to do to both front wheels to level his rig…

Of 14 campsites, there were only three RV’s…

014

In the end, it proved to be a very quiet and relaxing spot. The lake was not visible from our campsite…

In the below Google Earth image the X shows our location…

We will move along later this morning.

Mary is at home in California enjoying the holidays with her family. She has made her airline reservations to join me here at Harlingen, Texas on January 3, 2013.

The motorhome is parked at Tropic Winds RV Resort and is scheduled to be here until January 10th. While I await Mary’s arrival on the 3rd, I’ll be seeing some local attractions, performing repairs and preventative maintenance on both the motorhome and Bronco, plus thoroughly cleaning both vehicles.

A few days ago I drove the Bronco the about 12 miles to San Benito, Texas, to visit the Museums of San Benito…three museums in one building. Yesterday I reviewed the Freddy Fender Museum. Today’s topic is the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame & Museum.

Heron Lake State Park – New Mexico Day 56 (GA204)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolaus, California. I expect to depart here November 13th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2011-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted August 14, 2012…

The motorhome is still parked at Heron Lake State Park about 20 miles south of Chama, New Mexico while I am recovering from my May 27th accident. To read about my recovery status, click this link… https://otrwjam.wordpress.com/recovery-status-page/

While I’m recovering, Mary remains at her home in California tending to doctor’s appointments, her rentals and other miscellaneous business.

Today I’m going to interrupt my sunset photos presentation and use a grandfather’s prerogative…bragging rights!

Last Saturday my grandson Eric became 15 years old. He told me yesterday during a phone call that he had also played in a baseball tournament last weekend that included 10 teams with 12 players each, So that meant there were 120 aspiring baseball players in the tournament. Eric aspires to become the catcher for the New York Mets!

I do not know who the judges were, but Eric told me the decision was unanimous…HE WAS AWARDED THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER PLAQUE! That means that out of 120 players, he was voted the best!

WAY TO GO, ERIC!

Also, here are some photos that I took when I was last in southeastern Connecticut when I last visited there in 2010 when he was 13 years old. I planning to be there in 2013…

Rogue River To Winston, Oregon

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click
Here

Yesterday I drove 75 miles from Rogue River to Winston, Oregon.

The day started by driving 25 miles to Sunny Valley, Oregon.

I primarily stopped here to visit the Applegate Wagon Trail Museum. I got here before the museum opened at 10:30 AM, so I took a short walk up the road to the old covered bridge. It’s the only one in Oregon that can be seen from Interstate Highway 5.

Here are some of the photos that I took…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Finally the museum opened…

When I got to the door, I was greeted with this surprise. I spoke to the owner a few days ago explaining I’m a travel blogger for the Seattle PI newspaper (which I am), and she did not say one word about the no photos policy. I will not patronize places with a no photo policy…

I went inside anyways and the owner allowed my to take only these two photos inside…

She invited me to take a quick walk-thru which I did. The museum look very well done and you may want to consider it if you are passing Exit 71 on Interstate Highway 5.

So, back outdoors I went. I took a few photos outside…

Back on the road once again, 50 miles and one hour later I arrived at VFW Post #9745 in Winston, Oregon. I’ve stayed here once a few months back where I have an electrical hookup…

It’s nice and quiet back here. I expect to depart from here in two or three days.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

Yesterday was mostly sunny and 75 degrees. Forecast for today is mostly sunny and 81 degrees.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Connor, Washington. I’ll depart here August 30th. I’ve been here a number of times in past years.

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about the beginning of October, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

(Note: I’m currently a little discombobulated right now. My normal mode is to blog what I experienced yesterday. Right now, I’m a number of blogs behind my experiences. I expect to be back in my normal mode in about a month.)

Today’s subject…

About one month ago, I went to Port Gamble, Washington. While there I visited the General Store. In the cellar of the General Store, there is the Historical Museum.

Here are some photos that I took…
