Sonora, California

The motorhome is parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California where she is busy attending to personal matters.

Yesterday I drove the Bronco 30 miles from Murphys to Sonora, California…the location of my new VA Outpatient Clinic. The purpose of the 45 minute trip was to have lab work done in preparation for meeting my new primary care doctor tomorrow.

Last September during my eye exam at the Seattle, Washington VA Hospital I was told I have a large cataract in my right eye that should be attended to in the next year. My new doctor will make the necessary arrangements to have my eye problem corrected. I’m hoping to have my cataract surgery completed prior to Mary going to Turkey with her grandson on April 18th.

The location in Sonora is so much more convenient than the massive facility in Seattle…

It’s only got 10 parking spaces. I did not inquire how this driver managed this trick or what happened to him…

I had my lab work done and was on my way back to Mary’s within 10 minutes of my arrival. I’ll make the return trip to meet my new doctor tomorrow.

Along the way I passed the Melones Reservoir which illustrates the impact of California’s long drought. You can see where the high water has been in the past. All throughout this area are signs saying “Water Shortage…Please Conserve” and “Pray For Rain”…

Since my arrival two days ago there’s been some pretty good rainfall. It rained hard last night with some thunder and lightning. It’s raining steadily as I write this morning.

Maybe I should hire myself out as a Rain Maker!  🙂

Yesterday was a cloudy day at 66 degrees. Forecast for today is cloudy with rain showers and 68 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!
