Port Townsend Via Ferry To Fort Casey State Park – Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 21st year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington. I’ve been here many times before. I’ll depart here September 20th.

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about the beginning of October, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

(Note: I’m currently a little discombobulated right now. My normal mode is to blog what I experienced yesterday. Right now, I’m a number of blogs behind my experiences. I expect to be back in my normal mode in about three weeks.)

Today’s subject…

About one month ago I visited the pretty and quaint  City of Port Townsend, Washington. After completing my visit, I put the motorhome and Bronco on the ferry for the 30 minute, five-mile crossing to Whidbey Island and a four-day stay at Fort Casey State Park.

Here are some of the photos that I took…

About one month ago I visited the pretty and quaint  City of Port Townsend, Washington. I went for a nice 1+ hour walk around Chinese Garden Lake. I was unable to find out how the lake got its name. Starting south of the lake, I walked counter-clockwise around the lake to North Beach on Puget Sound and then back to my starting point.

About one month ago I visited the pretty and quaint  City of Port Townsend, Washington. I took a walk around the large marina where boating is a big thing in this area. I saw a wide variety of vessels being worked on. While summer is the prime boating season, it is also the prime maintenance season. Boats and RV’s are somewhat similar with the exception that boats require far more maintenance…for which I’m very happy. Some folks have called RV’s land yachts.

Today’s subject…

About one month ago I visited the pretty and quaint  City of Port Townsend, Washington. As always, I inquire from the locals about small mom and pop eateries in their city/town. Places where one can get a good meal at a good price. The locals came through again by recommending Sea J’s Cafe as having the best seafood in town. I really enjoyed the reasonably sized meal for a reasonable price. About $10 for my fish and chips and unsweetened iced tea. I seldom eat fried food, but every once in a while, I just got to have some good fish and chips!
