Hovenweep National Monument – Utah/Colorado

The motorhome is now parked at the Paradise Casino in Winterhaven, California right across the Colorado River from Yuma, Arizona. We’re here with others…hanging out and enjoying the nice weather. We will leave here later this morning..

Yesterday was a sunny day at 67 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 65 degrees.

A more relaxed mode..

After our 682 day on-the-go 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States, we have decided to slip into a more relaxed mode. In the next few months we will be traveling through areas previously explored. Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily.

A note about today’s photo album…

I shot these photos using the watercolor mode on my camera. The intent is to make them look like watercolor paintings. It’s a neat effect.

Hovenweep National Monument

As we prepare to depart this morning I have a couple of leftover photos. The first one was shot at the full extension of my camera’s zoom ability so he was several miles away…

This last photo is a western view of a sunrise. In other words the rising morning sun is at my back and reflecting off of the clouds above St. Thomas Indian Mission…

RV Trip Favorite Photos #188-203

Jim says:

While Mary and I are taking care of business here at her home…there is little “new stuff” to Blog about daily. So I’ve decided to share with you some of my favorite photos from our recent 298 day, 16,000+ mile RV trip around the United States.

Since scenery and people snapshot-type photos require little special photography skills…and being limited by the abilities of my digital camera…I none the less took some photos that I really liked. They are presented in no special order of favoritism.

Today’s photos were taken at the western end of the island of Martha’s Vineyard off the southern coast of Massachusetts on June 10, 2010……

In other news…
67 degrees and partly cloudy. Scanned an additional 150 of Mary’s old black and white family photos to digital format. In the below photo she is locating the photo that I scanned so she can put the names of the people in the photo in the caption area. She said she’s wanted to do this project for a long while…so here she is doing it! 🙂
