Outdoor World Campground – Sturbridge, Massachusetts

The motorhome is currently parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. My current departure date is scheduled for December 1st. Five days and counting!

During this remaining time I’ll be attending to cleaning of the motorhome in addition to assisting Mary with her activities. This item is not particularly exciting to write about…so…instead I’ll be showing Picasa Web Albums from our 682 day, 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States. It was Mary’s second circumnavigation and the sixth for myself.

Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily. So come back tomorrow.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

The cataract surgery of my right eye was conducted on October 9th and my left eye on November 6th. Both eyes are now at 20/20. The only remaining item left (other than eye drops until early December) is a visit to the optometrist to be fitted for reading glasses at the VA Hospital in Livermore, California was yesterday. I made a last-minute phone call and changed my appointment to December 2nd.

Yesterday was a partly sunny day and 65 degrees. Forecast for today is mostly sunny and 70 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Scotrun, Pennsylvania

The motorhome is parked  at Outdoor World Campground in Scotrun, Pennsylvania. This campground is part of the Thousand Trails RV Resort system of which we are members, so we got to stay here for free.

I drove the motorhome 213 miles yesterday, part of which we crawled along on Interstate Highway 80…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

We gassed up in eastern Pennsylvania for $3.40.0 credit card price. In Connecticut the credit card price was $4.09.9, a difference of $0,69 per gallon. In Connecticut the 40 gallons we bought would have cost us an additional $28.00 for the same amount of fuel!

We are in the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania which are not very high. Our campground elevation is at about 1,100 feet, 5:30 AM temperature was 67 degrees with 83% humidity and light rain. Heavy rain forecasted for our travels today.

And in the campground…

Outdoor World Campground, Sturbridge, Massachusetts, – Day 5

The motorhome is parked at the Outdoor World Campground in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. I expect to depart here on Sunday.

Mary is back at  her home in California tending to some personal business. She has made her plane reservations and will fly to meet me in Boston, Massachusetts on July 30th.

I’m hiding out in the air-conditioning of the motorhome during a week-long heat wave. For the next two days the temperatures are supposed to be mid-90’s with similar humidity. YUK!!!

In the below Google Earth image my location is marked by the yellow dot…

The temperature when I arose at 5:00 AM was 78 degrees with 93% humidity. It was so hot and humid I had the air-conditioning run on all through the night. Good thing I like to read because that’s what I’ll spend most of my day doing!

Because of the excessive heat, I talk my daily walk at 5:30 AM. Lots of bugs and mosquitoes are out at that time of the day.

This campground has a nice pond which is very still at 5:30 AM. This Google Earth image shows the pond…
