Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have almost 4,000 postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Palm Springs RV Resort in Palm Desert, California. I’ll depart here later this morning.
20 years ago today was December 23, 1995…the day I departed Olympia, Washington to begin my full-time RVing lifestyle. Today therefore marks the beginning of my 21st year.
At that time, my goal was to achieve 20 years of living on the road full-time. At that time, I decided I would no longer vote (being disgusted with choosing from the lesser of two evils), pay no more taxes other than vehicle registration and sales taxes (I paid plenty of income tax during my working years), and finally, never to pay another cent of interest. If I made it, after that, it would all be gravy.
Here I sit, 20 years later with all those goals achieved. I’m happy to report that after these 20 years I find myself happy and healthy.
Back in 1995, I was driving a Chevy Suburban and towing an 18 foot travel trailer. Here’s a photo taken while in Baja Sur, California, Mexico in 1998. The film was developed in Mexico hence the spotty photo…

In 1999 I bought a 1983, 23 foot Class A Suncrest Motorhome and a 1984 Ford Bronco II specifically to take to Central America. This photo was taken in 2004 during that 343 day, 16,000+ mile trip…
I met Mary in 2008 and in 2009 we acquired my current motorhome and Ford Bronco II…
The last 20 years have been delightful. It’s been a lousy job…but someone had to do it! 🙂
What the future holds, we’ll just have to find out One Day At A Time! In the meantime…onward and enjoy the gravy!!!
I hope you enjoyed the photos.
Yesterday was partly sunny and 68 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 71 degrees.
Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!
The red dot on the below map shows my approximate location in the State of California. You may double left-click the map to make it larger…
Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!

My current travel rig is a 2006 Fleetwood 26′ Class A Motorhome and a towed 1986 Ford Bronco II, Eddie Bauer Model. This photo was taken in the desert at Slab City near Niland, California…
