A One Night Visit With The Bedingers – Southworth, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 21st year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Fort Townsend State Park in Port Townsend, Washington. I’ll be departing from here this coming Sunday.

(Note: I’m currently a little discombobulated right now. My normal mode is to blog what I experienced yesterday. Right now, I’m several blogs behind my experiences. I expect to be back in my normal mode within a couple of weeks.)

A week ago Sunday I enjoyed a one night visit with the Bedingers in Southworth, Washington. Who are the Bedingers, you ask? The are the family that bought my famous motorhome in which I made my 2004 Mexico/Central America trip. They bought the motorhome in 2009 with the admonition…if you are ever in our area, give us a call and stop by. That’s just what I did.

Back on this past June 16th, I unexpectedly came across Ned with his new motorhome at Ocean Shores, Washington. You can read about that encounter and about the ultimate fate of the motorhome they bought from me in 2009, by clicking this link…

Sunday On The Beach – Ocean Shores To Ocean City, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
My RVing lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Oceana RV Resort in Ocean City, Washington. I’ll be here until July 2nd.

There are places in Washington where vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach. Yesterday I drove the local 4.5 mile segment from Ocean Shores to Ocean City. Being a Sunday there were quite a few folks…during the week there are lots less. The below Google earth image shows today’s locations…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…
1
Beach access is allowed 24/7, 365 days a year…(not my photo)…

When you reach the beach, you are allowed to only turn right, to the north…
DSC08884
Speed limit is 25 mph…
DSC08888
It’s recommended you drive on only the hard-packed sand…
DSC08889
Lots of folks digging in the sand…

Lots of folks walking the dog…

It’s neat that you are allowed to drive on a beach. So many places it is not allowed. It proves that with care the population can enjoy themselves with harming the beach.

Today’s blog entry shows two views of my current location. My spot is marked with a red dot. These are not real-time photos, in other words, they were taken some time in the past. The last section closest to the Ocean is currently closed to RV’s and is vacant. The bridge crossing the canal was declared unsafe by an engineering firm last October. Replacement of a new bridge awaits a permit from some governmental agency…
