Yesterday I drove the motorhome 113 miles from Nicolaus to Murphys, California. I’m now at Mary’s home and am scheduled to depart September 29th. While here, I’ll do routine maintenance to both vehicles.

Today’s Subject…Nicolaus to Murphys, California…

The first stop was at a truck/RV wash. The motorhome was quite dirty and ready for this happening. The initial wet-down…

I do not allow the large rotary brushes which tend to remove decals…so I pay a few bucks extra for a hand-wash. Three Mexicans do a good job of scrubbing it down, including the roof, in about 30 minutes. The Bronco is attached to the rear also get washed…

An Interesting Perspective About Death… Part 1

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. I am scheduled to depart November 27th. While here, I’ll do cleaning, routine maintenance and minor repairs to both vehicles.

A couple of days ago I accidentally ran across this video and found it most interesting. I hope you will also. Just a note to say I met Wayne Wirs a couple of times a few years back. I didn’t know him well, but I had met him through mutual RVing friends.

The moderator is Bob Wells, a long-time van dweller.

A couple of weeks ago I ran across this saying…

Old age is an island surrounded by death.

Enjoy…

Part 2 tomorrow.

I hope you enjoyed the video!

Yesterday was mostly sunny and 64 degrees. Forecast for today is mostly sunny and 74 degrees.

Eureka! I Found A Huge Gold Nugget!

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.

The motorhome is parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. While here I’ll perform routine maintenance and cleaning of both the motorhome and Bronco.

Mary had surgery on her right shoulder April 15th. Today we return to her surgeon for her first post-op exam.

I want to assist her during recovery however I can. I assisted her with her left shoulder surgery in 2009. Whenever it’s convenient and I know that she is comfortable, I’ll make my future travel plans at that time.

While hanging out here, I thought I’d post some earlier entries about things and places near here in Murphys, California. I first published this blog April 13, 2011…

For about ten days now, I’ve been camped only one mile from where gold was discovered in California in 1848. While wandering around my campground I came across this huge gold nugget!

Anyone have a suggestion on how to remove the black paint some fool used on it? Now that I am rich, I believe this may be my last Blog entry about the California Gold Country.

If you missed my Blog entry about my visit to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, click this link…

840 Giants…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Palm Springs RV Resort at Thousand Palms, California. Mary remains at home and I expecting her to rejoin me in mid-January.

Yesterday morning I looked out of the kitchen window at 6:15 AM during the first light of the day…and saw something really pretty. So I open the door of the motorhome and took these two photos looking East to share with you…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

And looking to the West in these three photos you can see a full Moon…

How do I know there are 840 of these giant Date Palm trees here at the Thousand Trails RV Resort in Thousand Palms, California? Simple, one of my daily walking friends asked the park manager. So I’m guessing that since the city in which I am located is called Thousand Palms…that there must be an additional 160 of these big guys elsewhere within the city limits. One thing I know for sure is…I do not intend to count them!

WASP Museum – Sweetwater, Texas

The motorhome is parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. She is busy with personal matters.

Last September during my eye exam at the Seattle, Washington VA Hospital I was told I have a large cataract in my right eye that should be attended to in the next year. My new doctor has made the necessary arrangements to have my eye problem corrected. I’m hoping to have my cataract surgery completed prior to Mary going to Turkey with her grandson on April 18th.

My new eye exam date has now been rescheduled for March 24th.

A more relaxed mode..

After our 682 day on-the-go 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States, we have decided to slip into a more relaxed mode. In the next few months we will be traveling through areas previously explored. Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily.

To read about today’s photo album location, click this link… http://waspmuseum.org/about/

Santa Rosa Lake State Park – Day 4

Mary remains at home in California tending to medical issues.

The motorhome is currently parked at Santa Rosa Lake State Park, about 125 miles east of Albuquerque.

==========================================

2011-2013 – 6th Circumnavigation Of The USA…Update #4

This Blog posting…which I will post from time-to-time…will be used to present my/our travels on this almost two-year circumnavigation of the United States…my 6th…Mary’s 2nd. During these circumnavigations, I try to travel on roads I’ve not seen before…I’m about 90% successful in that regard.

The only things I know about our potential destinations during this upcoming adventure is that I/we plan to spend a good portion of 2012 exploring the State of New Mexico. In 2013 we’re planning to attend my oldest grand-daughter’s high school graduation in June in southeastern Connecticut. Other than that…we’ll just have to find out one-day-at-a-time where our fates will send us.

The trip began from Murphys, California on November 29, 2011 with 35,956.5 miles on the motorhome odometer. In addition to showing the route taken, I intend to also document where I/we parked during this journey. My guess is that within the about next 700+ days we will park in about 250+ different places.

Here’s the map so far which you may click on to see in a larger view…
