Yesterday I drove the motorhome 85 miles from Anderson to Weed, California.

 

Along the way I passed by Lake Shasta. I cannot ever remember seeing the water level so high. The drought is over…

I proceeded thru Weed, California (population about 3,000). About five more miles and I parked at a free campground along the shore of Lake Shastina. It’s my first time here…

Only about five miles from Interstate Highway 5, it proved to be a very quiet and peaceful stay.

Anderson, California To Wimer, Oregon

Yesterday I drove the 198 miles from Anderson, California to Wimer, Oregon..

Change of plans…

2015 is proving to be an overwhelming year for Mary. Her to-do plate is overflowing. Among the many things requiring her time is the completion of construction of a rental property in Wimer (13 miles north of Rogue River), Oregon.

Mary arrived here yesterday for a few days of hands-on involvement, then will return home to continue dealing with her over-flowing plate.

I’m here for a four-day stay after which I’ll head for the Oregon Pacific Coast for about a six-week visit and then into the State of Washington for the summer. My primary goals are to stay in 65-75 degree weather and take maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership.

We are now hoping for Mary to rejoin me on the road sometime after July 4th. Our planned trip to Yellowstone National Park and Wyoming will hopefully now occur after the Labor Day holiday.

Most of yesterday’s travel was on Interstate Highway 5. In the first photo below…I’m approaching Mount Shasta…

After a gas and grocery shopping stop, I arrived at Mary’s  7 acre rental property at 1:30 PM…

Since it was 83 degrees I elected to park in the shade for the time being…

Mary arrived at 4:20 PM and by 5:00 PM we were enjoying happy hour on her partially completed back porch…

I’m not quite sure what Mary is going to do here since her son who is building the place won’t be returning here until Wednesday. I guess I’ll find out as time passes along… 🙂
