Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Resort, Lakehills, Texas – Day 21

Mary remains at home in California tending to medical and personal business issues. She has made her airline reservations to join me at Harlingen, Texas on January 3, 2013.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails about 40 miles west of San Antonio. I plan to depart here later this morning.

Here are the last of the deer photos that I’ve taken here at Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Resort in Lakehills, Texas. I’m really going to miss having these beautiful animals around me when I leave here.

This beautiful doe let me pet her. I rewarded her with a couple of Romaine Lettuce leaves. With the exception of that one photo, all others were taken by me standing in the doorway of the motorhome…

Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Resort, Lakehills, Texas – Day 19

Mary remains at home in California tending to medical and personal business issues. She has made her airline reservations to join me at Harlingen, Texas on January 3, 2013.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails about 40 miles west of San Antonio. I’ll be departing here Monday, December 10th.

Today…more of those very difficult to capture birds.

You may not know that professional wildlife photographers frequently bait the area to attract the animals, sit for hours in a photo blind, with very sturdy tripods and very long zoom lenses.

I am not that dedicated. Today’s photos were shot by myself and all were hand-held shots. You have to be really lucky and fast to capture hand-held photos of these birds.

Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Resort, Lakehills Texas – Day 16

Mary remains at home in California tending to medical and personal business issues. She has made her airline reservations to join me at Harlingen, Texas on January 3, 2013.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails about 40 miles west of San Antonio.

Since I’ve been here, I’ve been showing lots of photos of the abundant deer in this area. Two days ago I showed photos of the difficult to capture red squirrel. Well, today’s subject is even more difficult to capture, because they rarely stop moving.
