The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Conner, Washington. I’ll depart here tomorrow.

Today… A trip down memory lane!

2004 Central America trip…

This trip ended up being 343 days and 16,000+ miles through the back-country of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. 11 rigs started the trip, within a week we broke into three smaller groups for ease of traveling. Only myself and one other rig went the full, pre-planned route. All the others dropped out for various reasons. All returned safely to the United States. I’m planning to show these photos, more or less, 10 a day, whenever I’m not doing something else deserving a blog entry. FINALLY, it must be remembered these photos are prior to my switching to digital in 2006. The films were developed during our trip and the lack of quality control sometimes is plainly evident.

Today…Mexico (north-bound) #4…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Conner, Washington. I’m scheduled to depart here July 9th.

Yesterday morning at 5:15 am, I looked out of my dinette window and saw a neat view which lasted less than two minutes.

The reason for the short time frame was that the log was caught in the out going tide. From behind the leaves of the trees it moved right to left, then lost from view by more tree leaves. And now you get to see the log and who was hitching a ride…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Lake Arthur, Louisiana Day 2 (GA405)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 23rd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Connor, Washington. I’ll depart here July 16th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted February 20, 2013…

The motorhome is parked at American Legion Post #403 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.

We had planned to depart today…but the weather forecast is terrible…severe thunderstorms with large hail and significant risk of tornadoes.  Since we are safe here we’ve decided to stay. Then the locals keep on inviting us to see activities here, so I expect we’ll be here another two-three days.

Yesterday we drove the Bronco the about 15 miles southeast to the small town of Gueydan which claims the motto…Duck Capital of America. You can read about Gueydan by clicking this Wikipedia link…

Monroe To La Connor, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 23rd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 65 miles from Monroe to La Connor, Washington. The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort. I’ll depart here July 16th. I’ve been here a number of times in past years.

I’ll be hanging out in this general area until about mid-September, taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

The park was probably built during the 1970’s and is located on land leased from the Swinomish Indian Tribe for 99 years. This area of Washington has always been one of my very favorite locations in all of the United States. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the air is fresh and clean, it seldom gets too hot or cold, there are virtually no bugs or mosquitoes and the people are very friendly. In 2001 and 2002 I worked here for the summer selling park memberships. I’ve been coming here for years and know the area very well. It’s my very favorite place to go to during the Summer…that’s why I keep returning.

Here’s a Google Earth view of the campground which is located on one-half mile of Puget Sound waterfront…

La Conner To Monroe, Washington

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 65 miles from La Conner to Monroe, Washington. The motorhome is now parked at Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort along the bank of the Skykomish River. I’ve been here a number of times over the past years and always enjoy it here. My scheduled departure date is September 6th.

I’m just hanging out taking maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership and very agreeable weather.

I’ve marked the below Google Earth image in yellow to show my camping spot along the river. It is not a real-time image. This was taken the very end of March…in reality now the park is almost filled to capacity with RV’s…
