National Civil Rights Museum – Memphis, Tennessee

The motorhome is currently parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. My current departure date is scheduled for December 1st.

During this time I’ll be attending to my cataract surgery, cleaning, routine maintenance and minor repairs to the motorhome and Bronco in addition to assisting Mary with her activities. None of these items are particularly exciting to write about…so…instead I’ll be showing Picasa Web Albums from our 682 day, 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States. It was Mary’s second circumnavigation and the sixth for myself.

Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily. So come back tomorrow.

My cataract surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, California. Pre-op activities have begun. Four times a day, two different eyes drops,(anti-inflammation and anti-bacterial), once drop of each in my right eye until time of surgery.

Yesterday was a sunny day and 88 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 90 degrees. YUK!

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!

Reno, Nevada – Day 3

Jim says:

Yesterday my good friend Randy and I went to the National Automobile Museum…the remains of the Harrah automobile collection. We spent a very enjoyable 3.5 hours viewing the over 200 automobiles. The thing I found most interesting was the perfection of restoration. All the vehicles with the exception of a couple of minor flaws were in “showroom condition”.

Some of the autos in the museum were owned by folks like Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Al Jolson, Lana Turner, John Wayne, John Kennedy and Andy Griffith.

In the meantime Mary went to the Nevada Museum Of Art, only to find it closed on a Tuesday. She intends to go today.

Here are 13 photos that I took…
