The Great Adventure Dinette Window Photos – Final Update

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
Sadly Mary is struggling with health issues. To see the latest about her situation, click here

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The motorhome is parked in Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe, Washington. I’m scheduled to depart here June 18th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

Note: This is the final blog posting from this particular trip.
This entry was posted October 13, 2013…

Back on November 29, 2011, I began what was my 6th circumnavigation of the United States. It was Mary’s 2nd. It ended on October 10, 2013.

I called it The Great Adventure, because it was different from my other five circumnavigations…in which the routes were kinda-sorta pre-planned. This time…with the exceptions of attending my oldest grand-daughter’s high school graduation in June 2013 in southeastern Connecticut…I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there! Hence…The Great Adventure.

The only plan was to live a day-to-day lifestyle and let the winds blow us where they may!

Another thing different about this circumnavigation…in addition to our daily Blog entries documenting our experiences…is in every overnight parking spot I decided to take a photo out of our dinette window.

For instance, here’s the first one from the VFW at Wellton, Arizona…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Wellton, AZ

And here’s the view out of our dinette window at our parking location at the Dancing Eagle Casino RV Park, Casa Blanca, New Mexico…

During the course of this 682 day circumnavigation, we parked in 175 locations. In addition you need to know that when I parked the motorhome…I did not say to myself…where’s the best view? It is strictly by chance what view ended up outside of our window.

You need also to remember that we over-nighted a lot at free locations such as Eagles and Moose Clubs, American Legion, VFW and Elks Clubs where the views are not always spectacular…but usually somewhat interesting!

Finally I started taking these photos once we departed Yuma, Arizona. Prior to that time all the previous overnight parking locations are repeats from previous times since I travel those routes somewhat regularly.

Unfortunately this Picasa Web Album decided to partially malfunction. It has “lost” a few and in addition, has them somewhat out of the chronological order in which they were taken. That being said, they still can be enjoyed.

I’ve got 129 out-of-the-dinette-window photos in the final collection. You can see them all by clicking the below link. Once there, click the slide show button…

After viewing the 129 photos I think you’ll agree that the full-time RVing lifestyle exemplifies the saying of “Variety Is The Spice Of Life”! The constant changing of scenery, people, local foods and music is most stimulating. I never tire of it!

It’s fun for me to look at the about 129 photos that finally ended up in this collection. I hope you enjoy them as well.

The Great Adventure Dinette Window Photos…Update #2…

Back on November 29, 2011, I began what is my 6th circumnavigation of the United States. It will be Mary’s 2nd.

I’m calling it The Great Adventure, because it’s different from my other five circumnavigations…in which the routes were kinda-sorta pre-planned. During the course of this two-year circumnavigation I’m expecting that we will park overnight in somewhere between 250 and 500 locations. In addition you need to know that when I park the motorhome…I do not say to myself…where’s the best view? It is strictly by chance what view ends up outside of our window.

You need also to remember that we overnight a lot at free locations such as Eagles and Moose Clubs, the American Legion and VFW. Free is good but the views are not always spectacular…but usually somewhat interesting.

Finally I started taking these photos once we departed Yuma, Arizona. Prior to that time all the previous overnight parking locations are repeats from previous times since I travel those routes somewhat regularly.

With that said, I’ve got 47 out-of-the-dinette-windows collected so far. You can see them all by clicking the below link. Once there, click the slide show button…

It will be fun to look at the 250 to 500 photos that will finally end up in this collection when the circumnavigation has been completed!

Great Adventure Post #1

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at the Paradise Casino in Yuma, Arizona. I was expecting to leave here recently, but I’ve changed my mind. I currently have reservations at Thousand Trails in Palm Desert, California, February 13th. Between now and then???? For the moment I remain in Yuma.

I just love the ability to change plans at a moments notice. As I tell everyone…All my plans are firmly etched in Jello!

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2012-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 10,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted January 25, 2012…

“Stagnant Mode” is the best phrase that I could think of to describe the time when I’m not out seeing and doing new things.

Mary and I arrived back at her home in California on October 10, 2011 where I spent the about next seven weeks cleaning and doing preventative maintenance on the motorhome and towed Ford Bronco II.

This is the map from our 2010, 286 day trip covering 11,046 miles in the motorhome and 5,000+ miles in the Bronco…

usa-conic-9

After Thanksgiving I headed out for the warmer weather. On to Palm Springs and Slab City, California and then to the Yuma, Arizona area where I hung-out for about one month while waiting for Mary to rejoin me. All places I been to numerous times before…mostly dictated by good weather.

Mary re-joined me on January 18th and after taking care of her dental needs in Los Algodones, Mexico the day before yesterday…my “Stagnant Mode” has finally come to an end! It’s time to get out on the road and returning to seeing and doing once again!

After a few miscellaneous stops in Yuma, Arizona yesterday morning…we finally got out of Dodge! We only drove about 30 miles and ended up spending the night in the small town of Wellton, Arizona. We parked at the VFW Post #6790.

As always you may click upon a photo to see and enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

About one small block away the VFW has a courtesy RV site with electric and water. That’s where we actually spent the night.

No matter that it’s along the road…wasn’t that much traffic!

For everything you could ever want to know about Wellton, click this Wikipedia link…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellton,_Arizona

No…it’s not quite the Grand Canyon…but at least we’re seeing and doing new stuff once again.

Today’s planned destination is the Painted Rocks Petroglyphs…about 80 miles distant. In the next few coming days we will kind of be out in the toolies and may not be able to pull in an Internet signal. So if you do not see a daily Blog from us…don’t worry. We’ll be back with a new entry soon.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

Yesterday was partly sunny and 72 degrees. Forecast for today is partly sunny and 76 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

The red dot on the below map shows my approximate location in the State of Arizona. You may double left-click the map to make it larger…
