Jim says: Not a particular big deal…as it was only about one hundred miles. Near the Gulf of Mexico, the State of Alabama (the way the crow flies) is only about 50 miles wide.
I left Gautier, Mississippi about 8:30 AM…traveling on U.S. Highway 90 East. once again…little traffic.

In Mississippi.
After about 30 minutes, I crossed into Alabama.

The sign says “Welcome To Alabama”.

The roads in Alabama continued to be good with little traffic.

I crossed Mobile Bay on this bridge.

The World War II Battleship Alabama is permanently moored at Mobile Bay. I’ve been on Battleships before, so I didn’t stop.

To the East of Mobile, U.S. Highway 90 travels on the Old Spanish Trail.

For the first time in a while, I actually encountered some rolling hills.

Crossing the bridge over the water that separates Alabama and Florida.

The sign says “Welcome To Florida”.

In the American Legion big parking lot.
The Pensacola, Florida American Legion parking lot has 30 amp electrical service. It’s free for the first two nights and then $5 a night. Maximum stay is seven days. With so much to see in this area, I just may stay here a full week. Weather was mostly sunny and 72 degrees.
