Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Resort, Lakehills, Texas – Day 6

Mary remains at home in California tending to medical issues. She had successful carotid artery surgery on Wednesday, November 14th,  returned home the following day and is in the process of recuperation.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails about 40 miles west of San Antonio.

Yesterday I took the Bronco and drove the about 20 miles back to Bandera, Texas. I say back to, because I drove through Bandera on the way to my current parking spot at Thousand Trails with the motorhome, but did not stop.

Bandera calls itself…The Cowboy Capital of the World. You can read about Bandera by clicking this link…

Since I’ll be at Thousand Trails for another about two weeks and all I have to show from there are deer photos, I’m going to stretch out the photos I took in Bandera yesterday over three days. Today I’ll start with the photos I took at the Frontier Times Museum. Here’s the official website for the museum…

Last night was our final here at Moose Lodge #1964 ten miles south of Tucson, Arizona. We spent an enjoyable 1.5 hours saying good-bye to about a dozen of our newly made friends.

Today we will depart Tucson and head south to Nogales, Arizona.

Museum Of Northwest Colorado, Craig, Colorado

Jim says:

Yesterday Mary and I spent an enjoyable 2.5 hours visiting the Museum of Northwest Colorado in Craig, Colorado. The lower level is devoted to local area history and the entire second floor is called the Cowboy and Gunfighter Museum. The Cowboy and Gunfighter Museum has an impressive array of old cowboy gear including guns, gun leather, chaps, spurs, saddles, and other accoutrements. It claims to be one of the world’s outstanding collections of western Americana. There are also a fine collection of pictures, paintings and sketches depicting the era.

After the museum, we visited a genuine 1906 Pullman Railway Car located directly across the street from where we are parked at VFW #4296. It’s in remarkably good condition considering its years.

Here are eight photos…
