This Blog posting…which I will post from time-to-time…will be used to present my/our travels on this almost two-year circumnavigation of the United States…my 6th…Mary’s 2nd. During these circumnavigations, I try to travel on roads I’ve not seen before…I’m about 90% successful in that regard.

The only things I knew about our potential destinations during this upcoming adventure is that I/we planned to spend a good portion of 2012 exploring the State of New Mexico. In 2013 we planned to attend my oldest grand-daughter’s high school graduation in June in southeastern Connecticut…which we did. Other than that…we’ll just have to find out one-day-at-a-time where our fates will send us.

When we depart New England on August 12th we’ll head for Monroe, Washington and expect to arrive there around September 23rd.

The trip began from Murphys, California on November 29, 2011 with 35,956.5 miles on the motorhome odometer. It now reads 44,174.9 which means I’ve traveled 8,218.4 miles with the motorhome so far. I’ve also put about 8,000 miles on the Bronco on side trips.

In addition to showing the route taken, I intend to also document where I/we parked during this journey. My guess is that within the about 700 days of the trip we will park in about 150+ different places.

Here’s the map so far which you may click on to see in a larger view…

Ivoryton, Connecticut Day 3 (GA574)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
To view past blogs, scroll to the bottom of this page and use the menu.
I’m currently in my 24th year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The motorhome is parked at Shady Acres RV Park in Yuma, Arizona. I may be here until March 4th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted August 9, 2013…

The motorhome is parked at my son’s home in Ivoryton, Connecticut. We are planning to depart for the west coast next Monday.

In preparation for our departure from New England next Monday, yesterday Mary and I returned to my favorite bookstore in the whole world…The Book Barn in Niantic, Connecticut. I bought 10 books, About six weeks ago I went to The Book Barn and bought 19 books. In many years of travel I’ve been in many a used bookstore and this one is the best!

If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know that I’m an avid reader…reading on average about a book or two a week during the course of a year. As I travel I frequently have a problem finding books I like to read and frequently have to pay what I consider to be an excessive price. But…I don’t have those problems at The Book Barn in Niantic, Connecticut. They have over 500,000 books and all paperbacks are only $1.00!

Why is a good book like an RV???? Because both can take you to wonderful places!!!!

An RV takes you physically and a good book tales you mentally!!!!

Enjoying a good book is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Ivoryton, Connecticut Day 2 (GA573)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.

I’m currently in my 24th year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Shady Acres RV Park in Yuma, Arizona. I may be here until March 4th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted August 8, 2013…

The motorhome is parked at my son’s home in Ivoryton, Connecticut. We are planning to depart for the west coast next Monday.

The famous Ivoryton Playhouse is only about one mile from my son’s home. During my previous visit here in June I wrote a rather complete Blog entry about the history of the Playhouse which you can read by clicking this link… http://wp.me/pDCku-8uG

Yesterday Mary and I went to the Ivoryton Playhouse for the premier performance of Dream Girls. If you are unfamiliar with the story plot, you can read it here by clicking this Wikipedia link… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamgirls

No photography is allowed of the set or during the program. They allowed me to take a few interior photos before the show began…

Speaking of Dream Girls…here’s mine…

Mary and I were both disappointed with the performance. While the story line is a good one, the performers semi-sing (screech) their lines rather than speaking them. In addition because we were so late in buying our tickets, we ended up in the last row of the balcony…which was okay…but even back there the orchestra volume was too loud making is difficult to hear the performers. Oh well, you buy your tickets and take your chances!

This was very different from the great performance of The Buddy Holly Story which we saw here in 2010 and you can read about by clicking this link… http://wp.me/pDCku-sJ

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the about 100 miles from North Dartmouth, Massachusetts to Ivoryton, Connecticut. It’s parked at my son’s home.

Upon arrival yesterday, I could not get an Internet signal. After an hour on the telephone with Verizon technical support, they decided I had a bad SIM Card. So I drove the Bronco the about 10 miles to the local Verizon store. After about one hour there, I finally had an Internet signal. Back to the motorhome where once again…no Internet signal. Another hour on the phone with Verizon technical support to no avail…back to the Verizon store. Another hour and it was finally working once again. By time I got back to the motorhome it was 8:00 PM, but at least we now have an Internet signal. Computers are great when they work correctly, but when they don’t, they can be a real pain!

By then it was too dark to take my arrival photos. The first photo is of when I first arrived here in early June. Since I’m in the same exact position, it’s just like it would have been if I took it yesterday…
