Park City, Kentucky Day 1 (GA483)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 23rd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in Seaside, Oregon. I’m scheduled to depart October 22nd.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted May 7, 2013…

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the about 35 miles from Bowling Green to Park City, Kentucky.

Along the way we stopped at the National Corvette Museum. This 115,000 square foot facility is the only museum in the United States devoted to a single model automobile. Corvettes have been made since 1953…so this is the 60th year anniversary. The assembly plant across the way is currently closed to public tours. A 2013 Corvette Convertible has a manufacturer’s starting retail price of $75,925 just in case you were wondering…

Here are some of the photos that I took…

We Miss The Sinkhole…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in Seaside, Oregon. I’ve been here a number of times before, so I’ve thoroughly seen all of the local tourist attractions. So, now I’m just hanging out enjoying the nice weather.

Mary is dealing with her over-flowing to-do list plate which can only be handled by herself. The construction of Mary’s rental continues delay plagued. She now is hoping to rejoin me by early September.  😦

Today’s Subject…We Miss The  Sinkhole…

Yesterday I saw this photo in the Seattle PI Newspaper…

Here’s the link to the story…http://www.seattlepi.com/cars/article/Chevy-team-restoring-severely-damaged-Corvette-6346437.php

It reminded me that Mary and I walked this floor in 2013. You can read my blog about the sinkhole event by clicking this link…http://wp.me/pDCku-9YU

Okay…we missed it by 282 days…but it could have got us!  🙂

National Corvette Museum – Bowling Green, Kentucky

The motorhome is currently parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. My current departure date is scheduled for December 1st.

During this time I’ll be attending to my cataract surgery, cleaning, routine maintenance and minor repairs to the motorhome and Bronco in addition to assisting Mary with her activities. None of these items are particularly exciting to write about…so…instead I’ll be showing Picasa Web Albums from our 682 day, 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States. It was Mary’s second circumnavigation and the sixth for myself.

Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily. So come back tomorrow.

To read about today’s photo album location, click this link…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Corvette_Museum

CLICK ON THE BELOW PHOTO. ONCE YOU ARRIVE AT THE PHOTO ALBUM, SIMPLY CLICK “SLIDESHOW” AND ENJOY!

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.

The cataract surgery of my right eye was conducted on October 9th. It appears to have been successful and my last exam on October 24th had it at 20/25, down from 20/200 prior to the surgery. Surgery on my left eye is now scheduled for November 6th.

Yesterday was a sunny day and 75 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 80 degrees.

We Miss Being Gobbled Down Into A Sinkhole…

We are parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort of which we are members. It’s about 20 miles east of Palm Springs, California. We will depart from here on February 19th. The resort is set on 25 acres and has 805 tall date trees.

Yesterday I received news from a friend of a sinkhole happening a couple of days ago at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Here’s the CNN News link… http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/12/us/national-corvette-museum-cars-fall/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Mary and I were at the exact location on May 7th, 2013. Okay…we missed the sinkhole by 282 days, but it doesn’t change the fact it could have got us!  🙂

I took the below photo during our visit. You can read all about our visit there by clicking this link… http://wp.me/pDCku-84k
