I Meet A Fellow Blogger…A Dog With A Blog! (GA62)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Mary’s home in Murphys, California. I expect to be here 2-3 weeks. While here, I’ll be doing routine maintenance, repairs and general cleaning.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2011-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted March 27, 2012…

Note…I’m currently hanging out in the motorhome at the Moose Lodge in Silver City, New Mexico waiting on the completion of a transmission rebuild for my 1986 Ford Bronco II

On The Road With Jim And Mary Blog Header Photos

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails South Jetty RV Resort in Florence, Oregon. I’ve been here several times before. I plan to depart from here June 5th. I’ll slow my pace and spend the rest of May and most of June along the Oregon coast. Then into the State of Washington for the summer.

Mary is dealing with her over-flowing to-do list plate which can only be handled by herself. I’m hoping she will be able to rejoin me sometime after July 4th.

If you are a regular follower of the On The Road With Jim And Mary Blog…
https://otrwjam.wordpress.com/

(FYI – My daily Blog postings also appear on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and San Francisco Internet Newspapers.)

You will know for years the header photo showed a photo of our motorhome and towed Ford Bronco II…day after day. So much so that I (Jim, as the administrator), finally grew bored with the same old photo!

You will also know that I’m an avid photographer…visually documenting the many wonderful places I have been fortunate to visit. I have accumulated a special file with 1,000+ of my favorite photos…which I seldom look at myself. What good is having all these neat photos…if no one gets to see them?

Over the last several days, you likely noticed the motorhome and Bronco photo is now located in the lower region of my daily blog entry. Instead, I’ve decided that I’ll change the header photo daily using a photo from this special file…and it may or may not be associated with that day’s blog subject.

I hope you will enjoy viewing the daily changing header photos as much as I will…after all, I got to see that place in person and seeing the photo once again will refresh my enjoyment of the particular location. My intent is for you to have a similar feeling even though you were not there with me.

The below photo is a collage of all these photos…but you do not have to strain your eyes to see them. They will each appear daily as their turn arrives…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Ramblin’ Fever…The Kind That Can’t Be Measured In Degrees!

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Long Beach RV Resort in Seaview, Washington. My scheduled departure date is June 17th.

Mary is at home tending to personal matters…home maintenance, family, friends, rentals, etc.. She is now scheduled to meet me July 29th in Bellingham, Washington

In yesterday’s Blog posting I mentioned that my old cell phone was in its eighth year of service. It got me thinking about how long I’ve been blogging and how many Blog postings I have accumulated.

So I looked back into my archives and found that I have been blogging since April of 2006 and have published 2,972 Blog postings. With the exception of a couple of days when I was so far out in the boondocks that I could not raise an Internet signal, I have published a Blog posting every day.

Can you imagine how many places I have been and how many people I have met in 19 years as a full-time RVer and a part-time RVer since 1964? Even I cannot do it, and I lived it! As a matter of fact, I find that I can only remember only a very few events in the last 19 years. For the most part it is simply a very pleasant blur!

Variety is the spice of life! I’m so happy I’m a Ramblin’ Man!

As a special favor to me. here’s Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson singing my theme song…Ramblin’ Fever…

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE CONCERT!

All’s Fair In Love And Blogs…

In numerous Blog entries I have mentioned how much laughter Mary and I enjoy in our relationship. She brings a lot of laughter into my life and she tells me I do the same for her. In many of our Blog entries we also like to enjoy a laugh about the other. Here’s an example…

Mary tend to be an adventurous eater…eating all kinds of weird stuff…while I tend to be a more conventional eater.

So yesterday morning she had an unusual breakfast…to me! If you cannot tell…it’s a huge bowl of popcorn. Not exactly the Breakfast of Champions!

While I had a more traditional breakfast.

Here’s another illustration of our laughter. The below link will bring you to my Seattle PI Blog of January 23, 2009…

http://blog.seattlepi.com/ramblinman/2009/01/23/yipes-its-spike/

I’ve long believed the lots of laughter is to foundation to good mental health. If that’s true…Mary and I are in good shape…at least mental-health wise!  🙂
