The motorhome is parked at Shady Acres RV Park in Yuma, Arizona. I may be here until March 4th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted July 14, 2013…

The motorhome is parked at my son’s home where I’m planning to depart later this morning.

Mary is back at  her home in California tending to some personal business. She has a tentative return-to-me-date of July 23rd.

Yesterday afternoon I went to another of my only grandson’s baseball tournament baseball games. He wears the #5 and aspires to be a major league catcher. Here are three action photos…

He had a great game. His team beat a team from New Jersey 6-1. He was part of an outstanding double play…pitcher to catcher to first base. He got to bat four times and got two doubles, a single and a walk. He batted in four of the six runs and scored once himself. Way to go, Eric!

A final look at my son’s home…

Today I’ll head towards Massachusetts for about a three-week visit with cousins and friends.

I’m planning to return for a six-day visit on August 5th just prior to my departure to the west coast.

Enjoying visiting family is another joy of the full-timing lifestyle!

Just like the pros he has applied some pine tar. Prior to batting he applies the pine tar to his hands for a secure grip…

He chose the #5 for his jersey because the number 5 is worn by his long-time hero, David Wright who plays third base for the New York Mets. Other famous players who have worn the #5 are Joe DiMaggio, Brooks Robinson, Hank Aaron, George Brett, Lou Boudreau, Hank Greenberg and Johnny Bench.

Last weekend he participated in an eleven team playoff tournament. His team finished third. In four games he had a number of hits including two home runs. This weekend he will play in a twenty team playoff tournament. In about two weeks he will be traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to play in a national playoff tournament. Way to go, Eric!

A Boston Red Sox Showcase Day… (GA526)

Mary has finally returned to her home in California. She has a tentative return-to-me-date of July 16th.

Last Monday was an interesting day. My only grandson Eric, his mom and myself drove about 30 minutes to American Legion Post Palmer Field in Middleton, Connecticut…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Red Sox Showcase 061713 001

The reason for the trip was that only at the age of 15, Eric was invited to participate in a showcase for the Boston Red Sox professional baseball team. If you are a regular follower of my Blog, you’ll remember on several occasions I’ve mentioned that Eric aspires to be a catcher in the major leagues.

The purpose of a showcase is to allow the team…in this case the Boston Red Sox…to preview upcoming talent. In other words to get on their radar screen. Now that they know of Eric, he was told they would monitor his baseball schedule and at any given time a scout may be sitting in the stands watching his performance. If they like what they see…they will be in touch!

Here are some of the photos I took there…

The about 30 participants began with stretching exercises…

After this point, his dad (my son) who could not be present because he was away on a business trip, had asked me to capture lots of video (which I did) so that he and Eric could evaluate his performances at a later time. So, no more photos.

At age 15, Eric was in the youngest age group present and did an admirable job. Way to go, Eric and good luck in your future baseball efforts!

Heron Lake State Park – New Mexico Day 56 (GA204)

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
I’m currently in my 22nd year of full-time RVing and my lifestyle is changing, For more info click Here

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolaus, California. I expect to depart here November 13th.

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

In 2011-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!

So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.

This entry was posted August 14, 2012…

The motorhome is still parked at Heron Lake State Park about 20 miles south of Chama, New Mexico while I am recovering from my May 27th accident. To read about my recovery status, click this link… https://otrwjam.wordpress.com/recovery-status-page/

While I’m recovering, Mary remains at her home in California tending to doctor’s appointments, her rentals and other miscellaneous business.

Today I’m going to interrupt my sunset photos presentation and use a grandfather’s prerogative…bragging rights!

Last Saturday my grandson Eric became 15 years old. He told me yesterday during a phone call that he had also played in a baseball tournament last weekend that included 10 teams with 12 players each, So that meant there were 120 aspiring baseball players in the tournament. Eric aspires to become the catcher for the New York Mets!

I do not know who the judges were, but Eric told me the decision was unanimous…HE WAS AWARDED THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER PLAQUE! That means that out of 120 players, he was voted the best!

WAY TO GO, ERIC!

Also, here are some photos that I took when I was last in southeastern Connecticut when I last visited there in 2010 when he was 13 years old. I planning to be there in 2013…
