The Spruce Goose…

Yesterday Mary and I spent the day at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, home of the famous Spruce Goose.

The Spruce Goose is by far the largest and most interesting of the exhibits. At 319 feet, 11 inches..it has the largest wingspan of any aircraft ever built. It flew only once, about 70 feet above the water and for about one mile. It was built by eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes.

In addition to the Spruce Goose, the museum has many other aviation and space-related exhibits.

Before the museum opened, this bird landed on our motorhome mirror. She also landed on the partition between the upper and lower mirror and looked at herself in the mirror. It must have been a her because it did it several times. 🙂  It was too fast for me to catch a photo.

We spent two nights in the museum parking lot…the only vehicle. This photo shows only about 1/4 of the huge parking lot…

All in all, another very pleasant day in the life of a full-time RVer!
