Yesterday morning I drove Mary to Seatac Airport south of Seattle Washington, She has some important business that needs her attention at home back in California…

With two people in the Bronco we were able to use the diamond lane and made it to the airport in 45 minutes. I then drove the 12 miles north to the VA Hospital where I had my first professional eye exam. I was told I have a cataract in my right eye and received a prescription to purchase prescription glasses. A couple of hours later my annual physical exam (which I missed last year because I was in New Mexico) went very well. No problems identified. Unable now to use the diamond lane, the ride back to the motorhome took 1.5 hours during the afternoon rush traffic. Makes me wonder why it’s called rush traffic!  🙂

Renewing my drivers license, and my VA exams accomplished completes two of the three reasons for returning to the Pacific Northwest. The third reason, having my friend and mechanic Kenny do some mechanical work on the Bronco and motorhome awaits completion. With heavy rain forecast for the weekend when we were supposed to get the work done, now may interfere with those plans. One Day At A Time is the order of the day!

Yesterday was a cloudy/sunny cool day. High temperature for the day was 63.

Forecast high temperature for today is 57 degrees, cloudy with rain developing.

Today we will be visiting with long-time friends of mine in Revere, Massachusetts, so we stayed in a hotel here last night. I lived in Revere from the ages of 10-18. In the afternoon rush (?) hour drive, the 7.5 mile ride from the airport to the hotel only took one hour. I wonder why it’s called rush hour?  🙂

This afternoon we’ll head back to North Dartmouth.

Mary flew out of Newark Airport yesterday to return home to California for about a six-week stay. Southaven, Mississippi Day 3 (GA463)

The motorhome is now parked at VFW Post #10567 in Southaven, Mississippi. The location is about 1/4 mile south of the Tennessee Border and about 10 miles south of the City of Memphis. We will stay here while we explore the Memphis area for the next several days.

Yesterday was both hot and humid. About 85 degrees and 85% humidity. The Weather Wimp…as Mary calls me, says…Yuk!!!

I drove the Bronco the about seven miles to meet Mary at the Memphis Airport. She arrived at 6:00 PM. She was in a condition of which I have not seen her before. A few days ago she re-arranged her living room furniture and a couple of days later ended up with a very painful neck…and cannot lift anything…

She got a good night’s sleep and feels somewhat better this morning. As I write this, she thinks she will call an acupuncturist first thing this morning and try to get an appointment asap. One thing we have both noticed is that she tends to feel physically better on the road in the motorhome than at her home in California. Hopefully she will soon be up and jumping around again. 🙂

It was so hot in the motorhome when we returned that we sat outside enjoying a nice breeze and watched a hazy sunset…

In addition to hopefully get an acupuncture appointment, we need to get her unpacked and moved back in and probably do a little grocery shopping. Hopefully by tomorrow she’ll feel well enough to start doing a little sightseeing.

Note: Mary flew from Baton Rouge Airport, Louisiana yesterday to her home in California. I’m hoping to get her back with me by mid-April. Can’t go north too fast because it’s still cold up there!

LOOKIN’ FOR MY NEW RIDE.

IMG_3983 (Copy)

I gotta fly out of Ontario, CA. airport this morning, back to my permanent abode and take up my other life. I’ve been looking for a new ride of some sort. This one didn’t look like it was going much of anywhere.

DSC04617 (Copy)

I kinda liked this one, it has personality, a definite nose and a couple of eyes. And, red is a good color. But if someone asked me what kind of car is that?  I wouldn’t know what to tell them. Anybody know?

IMG_1154 (Copy)

Ah,  this one looked perfect to drag home and use as my artsy car. But, Jim said , “That ain’t gonna happen.”  What a drag.

DSC04607 (Copy)

Then I found the perfect set of wheels, a nice roomy van and a perfect color. I love it. Whoo, whoo!. I’d wear my little pink hat and flashy black sweater with sparkles. This is it!  But it wasn’t for sale. Dang!

DSC08937 (Copy)

We are parked in Fontana at an American Legion, and this beauty was in a junk yard next to us. Jim kind of drooled over this one. Neat running board. He owned one just like this in 1951. And, it has wheels that look like they move. An Aha! moment. We found it.

DSC08938 (Copy)

But, the junkyard dog wouldn’t let us near the fence. We couldn’t even find out if it was for sale.  You might think I’m kidding about this little guy. He scratched and strutted and scooched up dirt and barked a lot. He was definitely protecting his territory. And, I wasn’t about to challenge a junk yard dog. Hope the Bronco makes it to the airport on time.
