The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in Acton, California. I’ll depart here later this morning.

If you are a regular follower of this blog, you know my ex-travel companion Mary is struggling with colon cancer issues. Here is yesterday’s email to me…

I had a pretty lousy morning. And, I need to finish my taxes OR ELSE!! You see where I’m spending my time, avoiding taxes don’t you? On email. I have to scold myself. Ken was here and he wanted to take me to dinner after working all day yesterday and I said, no, I look terrible. How about getting a nice big pizza. I haven’t splurged and gone off my diet in a long time. That said, I had a horrible stomach ache all night. Over slept. He did too. Maybe it was the pizza? Freshly baked straight from Pizza Plus in Murphys. So, maybe tomorrow.
I’ve had four nausea pills today. I’m allowed two. I’m having some other symptoms on the list and wondering it the symptoms from Keytruda get worse as you go. I guess I’ll find out. Sorry about being a downer today. Hopefully cheerier news tomorrow. Despite the more obvious symptoms, I’m still convinced Keytruda is a better choice than chemo. Methinks I’m in good hands. Wish I’d known and started it sooner.

Thanks for caring. That’s why you are my best friend.
Many hugs!

I hope you enjoyed hearing the latest from Mary…

Forecast for today is mostly cloudy and 80 degrees.

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon RV Resort in Acton, California. I’m planning to depart here tomorrow..

Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.

This entry was posted September 7, 2013…

Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 114 miles from Stanley, North Dakota to Culbertson, Montana.

We continued traveling along U.S.Highway 2 West.

The day started with a light rain…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

We decided we wanted to see the Buffalo Trail Museum which meant we had to get off of Highway 2 and get on this rough dirt road for about ten miles…

DSC05901

This is the main drag of Epping, North Dakota…population 100. Several buildings make up the museum…

DSC05904

Heather and Shelly were closing up the museum for the season when we arrived. They graciously opened all of the buildings and showed us around…

Here are some of the photos that I took. You don’t see a bank offering these terms anymore…

I wonder if Bonnie and Clyde ever used this pickup truck…

DSC05916

I thought that this might had been the first-ever travel trailer. Shelly explained it was actually the early school bus. Pulled by a horse and put on a sled during the winter…

This cabin was lived in for many years and moved to this site…

We continued on passing through Williston, North Dakota which because of the oil boom had many big and noisy trucks. We had been warned about the heavy crime of Williston so we continued on for another 20 miles and crossed into Montana and the Mountain Time Zone leaving the noise and hubbub of the oil boom behind. It was time to get back to the very light traffic mode of Highway 2…

DSC05956

We continued on for another 23 miles and arrived in the small Town of Culbertson, population 734, where we found parking at a Lions Town Park  Here I parked at the back of the parking area trying to get a little shade which increased as the afternoon went on…

Yesterday was a lousy weather day. 94 degrees with high humidity. Today’s forecast is for 81 degrees with a couple of thunderstorms. Tomorrow is forecast 79 degrees.

We’ll continue our westward travel later this morning.

Enjoying Lions Town Parks is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

I have been publishing a travel blog for more than ten years. I’ve used this platform to document my extensive travels of the North American Continent. But this is a travel blog and why should I limit it to only my travel?

Yesterday I shared my interest in Pitcairn Island with you. Identified as “One of the hardest places to get to on Earth”.

Also yesterday I stumbled upon another great video (below) detailing life on this remotest of locations. It runs 28:35 minutes and I found it most enjoyable. I trust you will also…

Exploring Pitcairn Island By Drone…

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon RV Resort in Acton, California. I’m scheduled to depart April 2nd.

I have been publishing a travel blog for more than ten years. I’ve used this platform to document my extensive travels of the North American Continent ever since I took up photography in 1974.

Unfortunately, I was not into photography when I was in the United States Navy more than 50 years ago, so I have no photographic records of those travels to a number of countries.

Years ago, I invented the question…  Why is an RV and a good book much alike?

Answer: They both take you to wonderful places. The RV takes you physically and a good book takes you mentally.

My favorite book(s) of all time is The Bounty Trilogy which you can read about by clicking this link…

Bounty Trilogy

The Bounty Trilogy consists of three parts…

1) Mutiny on the Bounty … The story of the actual mutiny which occurred in 1779.

2) Men against the sea … The story of Captain Bligh and the men forced to leave the Bounty.

3) Pitcairn Island … The story of the mutineers final landing-place where they burned the Bounty.

Pitcairn Island is located in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean. Here’s a great link describing it as…

One of the hardest places to get to on Earth…

Pitcairn Islands

You can read all about Pitcairn Island by clicking this Wikipedia link…

Pitcairn Islands

Over the past few years I’ve looked at a number of websites about Pitcairn Islands. At my advanced age it’s unlikely I’ll ever get there. If you have not been there, you likely not end going there either.

A couple of days ago I ran across the below delightful 36:08 minute video. I so enjoyed it, I decided to share it with you. I encourage you to view it full screen…
