Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 5,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.
Sadly Mary is struggling with health issues. To see the latest about her situation, click here

The motorhome is parked in Thousand Trails RV Resort in Seaside, Oregon. I’ll depart here later this morning.
Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.
and I’m back at Mary’s home in Murphys, California from which I departed on November 29, 2011 on a planned (almost) two-year circumnavigation of the United States. It was my sixth and Mary’s second such journey. Other than our near fatal accident on Memorial Day of 2012, it was a fine trip. We saw many interesting things and meet some really neat people.
Yesterday I drove the motorhome the 113 miles from Nicolaus to Murphys, California.
Along the way, I stopped at a truck wash just north of Sacramento and got the motorhome and Bronco a bath…which they really needed after more than 4,000 miles since leaving Connecticut about two months ago…

Leaving California Highway 99 soon found me on California Highway 12 heading up into the Sierra Nevada foothills (Note: for the next two photos, I had accidentally moved the control on my camera to watercolor)…
Then on to California Highway 49 (commemorative for the 1849 gold rush) which is really narrow with no shoulders. I really should not have been messing with my camera on this road…
Then on to California Highway 4 which at least has some shoulders…
Leaving Highway 4 the road really starts to narrow. Note that I’m driving well left of the center line…
Then the road really narrows to one lane with no center stripe…
And then Mary’s really narrow driveway…
And finally into her yard…
I’m glad Mary does not live one more house up the road as it gets really narrow and climbs a sharp grade!
I’ll be here until after Thanksgiving during which time both vehicles will get a through cleaning and some minor modifications and repairs.
During all of 2013, I’ve been complaining about the weather…either too hot or too cold. I had to come to California to find some nice weather! Yesterday was 70 degrees and sunny. Extended forecast for the next two weeks is sunny and in the mid-70’s. Yeah!
Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!
