The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails RV Resort in La Conner, Washington. I’ll depart here September 13th.
Since my RVing life is changing (see above), I’m starting to re-visit previously visited places. So rather than constantly re-blogging past entries, I’ve decided to do something different.
In 2011-2013, Mary and I did a 682 day, 12,679 miles in the motorhome and 8,000 miles in the Bronco, circumnavigation of the United States, which I called The Great Adventure. I called it so because other than my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation in June in Connecticut, I didn’t know where we would be going or when we would be there!</div?
So, unless I do something really different and unusual warranting a new blog entry, I’ll be posting entries from that trip.
The motorhome is still parked here at Heron Lake State Park about 20 miles south of Chama, New Mexico while I am recovering from my May 27th accident.
My right ribcage area remains slightly swollen and tender to the touch. I’m pleased to report some progress…with the exceptions of a cough or a sneeze, the poppings, with the associated pains, in my chest have finally stopped! I remain taking Ibuprofen, icing my ribcage area 2-3 times a day and wearing an elastic bandage abound my chest. The doctors told me to expect 6-12 weeks for recovery. The accident occurred six weeks and six days ago. Can you tell I’m ready for the recovery to be finished?
Because it has been so warm here, I’ve been sleeping with the windows wide open. It’s also so dark, no window coverings are needed. Last night however, at 2:35 AM, my sleep was disturbed by this light shining on my face. I awoke to find this waning quarter-moon rising slightly above the low nearby trees. I grabbed my camera and took a few photos by sliding back the screen and resting the camera on the window sill to help hold it steady since I was shooting at such a long focal length. A few seconds later, the first hint of wispy clouds started to appear…
And just a few seconds later, the wispy clouds had thickened up…
Pretty neat, huh? Not bad photos from a hand-held point and shoot camera of a subject approximately 237,750 miles away!
