Hotel San Carlos – Yuma, Arizona

Mary is no longer available for RV traveling, but we remain good friends.
Because we have 4,000+ postings, I’ve invited her to continue posting entries on this blog.

The motorhome is parked at Shady Acres Mobile Home and RV Park in Yuma, Arizona. I expect to depart here February 25th.

Once the gems of downtown Yuma, the San Carlos Hotel is now residential apartments for seniors on a limited income. This Art Deco building was built in 1930. The hotel often hosted casts and crews making western movies. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places…

I published the below photos in January, 2015…

Mounted in a glass frame are the autographs of some of the famous people who have stayed here. I was able to identify…Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Ty Cobb, Jack Dempsey, Herbert Hoover, Jim Thorpe, Spenser Tracy, Harry Carey, Boris Karloff and Tony Martin. Can you find others you know???

Recently I’ve been running blogs about my 2004 Central America trip. While here I’m intending to continue those postings while also alternating with Yuma area blogs.

I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Yesterday was sunny and 82 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 82 degrees. We are in a stretch for the next week or so with weather about 10-15 degrees above normal. Now it’s to dang hot!

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!
