Yesterday the Gods Smiled On Me…

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 45 miles from Hillsboro to Woodburn, Oregon.

I’m expecting to arrive at Mary’s home in central California, October 15th and depart November 30th. While there, I’ll do routine maintenance, minor repairs and major cleaning of the Bronco and motorhome.

Yesterday the gods smiled on me. In yesterday’s blog, I was in Hillsboro, Oregon awaiting the Monday morning opening of Bruce Chevrolet to fix my intermittent  electrical situation. I really lucked out. The problem which was resolved in a few minutes. It ended up being a stripped bolt on the negative cable of the engine battery. It created a poor ( but not visible) electrical connection. A new bolt and $56.14 later, I was on my way. I was expecting a lot worse situation.
After a stop at Costco and Camping World to buy some supplies, I ended up at the Eagles Club #3284 in Woodburn, Oregon. I parked in the rear with electrical hookup which was great because I had air-conditioning for a hot 85 degree day.

Another good happening yesterday…

I spent the better part of a most enjoyable two-hour happy hour chatting with Wayne Barrett, Worthy President, and other very friendly eagles members. Wayne really cares about his club and it shows in the environment and atmosphere. In a lot of clubs, I, as a stranger, am sometimes mostly ignored. Not in Wayne’s club… here they are really friendly! If you are an eagle member and passing through the area, they are located at 731 99SE. If you live in the Woodburn area and would like to join the Eagles as a member, contact Wayne at 503-981-3011, cell 503-810-9089. I’ll be coming back to this club!

I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Yesterday was a sunny and 85 degrees. Forecast for today is mostly sunny and 74 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!

I think you may have addressed this in a previous blog but I’m curious. Are you a member of the various clubs, VFW, Eagles, etc where you often stay or do they just allow you to overnight there as a courtesy? Always enjoy your posts. Particularly enjoying your current retrospective from your Mexico/Central America tour.

Thanks for your comment. You must be a member of these clubs to park there. I expect Mexico/Central America blogs to number 100+.
