Olympia, Washington – Day 1

Yesterday I drove the motorhome 85 miles from Monroe to Olympia, Washington. I’ll depart here tomorrow.

I’m expecting to arrive at Mary’s home in central California, October 15th. While there, I’ll do minor repairs and major cleaning of the Bronco and motorhome.

Part of yesterday’s drive going around Seattle was on Interstate Highway 405 where at 9:45 AM, was stop and go traffic…

I had intended to park in the parking lot of VFW Post #318 which ended up being quite small. Podiatrist Dr. Donald G. Hovancsek kindly allowed me to park for two nights in his large parking lot across the street from the VFW…

I enjoyed a nice beer and pizza lunch with my ex-neighbor Ted Price. I lived here in Olympia from 1980-95 until I headed out on my full-time RVing life. Ted and his wife Judy were the best neighbor’s anyone could ask for…

After lunch, I went to Goodwill store searching for used books and movies. On the way back to the motorhome, I stumbled across something I’ve not seen before…a Goodwill Outlet Store…

Everything here is just thrown into large bins, not very convenient for finding anything…but one-half price from a regular Goodwill store…

Then an enjoyable happy-hour visit with the friendly folks at VFW Post #318. Today I visit with some more old friends.

I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Yesterday was a mostly sunny and 69 degrees. Forecast for today is mostly cloudy and 75 degrees.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!
