Anderson, California To Wimer, Oregon

Yesterday I drove the 198 miles from Anderson, California to Wimer, Oregon..

Change of plans…

2015 is proving to be an overwhelming year for Mary. Her to-do plate is overflowing. Among the many things requiring her time is the completion of construction of a rental property in Wimer (13 miles north of Rogue River), Oregon.

Mary arrived here yesterday for a few days of hands-on involvement, then will return home to continue dealing with her over-flowing plate.

I’m here for a four-day stay after which I’ll head for the Oregon Pacific Coast for about a six-week visit and then into the State of Washington for the summer. My primary goals are to stay in 65-75 degree weather and take maximum advantage of my Thousand Trails membership.

We are now hoping for Mary to rejoin me on the road sometime after July 4th. Our planned trip to Yellowstone National Park and Wyoming will hopefully now occur after the Labor Day holiday.

Most of yesterday’s travel was on Interstate Highway 5. In the first photo below…I’m approaching Mount Shasta…

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

As I pass Mount Shasta I got a good view of Black Butte which you can read all about by clicking this Wikipedia link…,_California%29

A little further north I passed through the (proposed) State of Jefferson which you can read all about by clicking this Wikipedia link…

After a gas and grocery shopping stop, I arrived at Mary’s  7 acre rental property at 1:30 PM…

Since it was 83 degrees I elected to park in the shade for the time being…

And the usual dinette window photo…

This young buck deer couldn’t figure out who had invaded his home…

How about a profile shot…

Mary arrived at 4:20 PM and by 5:00 PM we were enjoying happy hour on her partially completed back porch…

This is the view we enjoyed from the back porch…

I’m not quite sure what Mary is going to do here since her son who is building the place won’t be returning here until Wednesday. I guess I’ll find out as time passes along… 🙂

More Monterey, California photos soon.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Yesterday was sunny and 83 degrees. Today’s forecast is sunny/cloudy and 78 degrees.

  1. I like your plan to camp in nice weather and take advantage of your thousand trail membership. Good idea! Ditto for us 🙂
