The motorhome is now parked at the Paradise Casino in Winterhaven, California. Less than 1/2 mile away is the Colorado River and on the other side…the sunniest place on Earth…Yuma, Arizona. I’m here hanging out and enjoying the nice weather. I have several friends in the area. Mary is now expecting to rejoin me here in later January.
Every Once In A While… either the motorhome or the Bronco II need a little time in a mechanic’s shop. Yesterday it was the Bronco’s turn. Through an acquaintance I met at the American Legion, I ended up at a local shop owned by a mechanic from Sinaola, Mexico where he graduated from an automotive school 25 years ago. I’ve spent about two years traveling through Mexico and have used Mexican mechanics a number of times. I’ve found them all to be honest, inventive and hard-working. Sometimes with a minimal amount of equipment and parts doing a remarkable job to get vehicles running once again.
The shop is located in Yuma, Arizona where Polo (the mechanic) rents the last two bays of Jaime’s (Jim in Spanish) Tire Shop…

Jack-up the Bronco and let’s get started…
He replaced the tie rods associated with the steering mechanisms which after 28 years had finally worn out. I do not begrudge having to replace a part that lasts that long…
While we had the front wheels off, I had him clean and re-pack the front wheel bearings with grease which I have done every 3 years/30,000 miles…
My friend Randy Vining stopped by to get a serpentine belt and thermostat replaced on his truck…
Job well done! If you find yourself in need of a good mechanic while in the Yuma, Arizona area, I recommend you stop and see Polo at 998 S. 4th Ave. His phone number is 928-488-6177…
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PHOTOS.
Our two-week cold snap is finally over. Daytime temps forecast for the next couple of weeks is in mid-to-low 70’s. Yeah…that’s more like it and the primary reason I come here this time of year.
Yesterday was a sunny day at 70 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny and 74 degrees.
The red dot on the below map shows our approximate location in the State of California. You may double left-click the map to make it larger…
Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!

Im a really big fan of both of the quotes that you put into this blog. Both the one by Albert Einstein and the one about the camera. It is so true that if we try our hardest to stay optimistic about everything that is happening, making sure you reflect your weaknesses and see where you can improve, and above all never give up. If something doesn’t turn out the way you want it, keep trying. Like it says, take another shot. Keep on moving forward. Thank you for your uplifting thoughts and the wonderful pictures.
Thank you for your nice comment(s).
