I Walk Into Mexico…

The motorhome is now parked at the Paradise Casino in Winterhaven, California. Less than 1/2 mile away is the Colorado River and on the other side…the sunniest place on Earth…Yuma, Arizona. I’m here hanging out and enjoying the nice weather. I have several friends in the area. Mary is now expecting to rejoin me here in later January.

Yesterday morning I drove the Bronco the 25 miles south of Yuma, Arizona to San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico for my annual visit with my dentist. I’ve been going to Dr. Sergio Bernal for about 10 years. I leave early so I can be first in line which means no waiting when he opens at 9:00 AM. The sun does not break the horizon until 7:40 AM which means difficult photo conditions with the sun so low on the horizon.

As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…

Right at the border on the Arizona side, I park the Bronco in a free city park…

Then walk across the border crossing. No cameras allowed beyond this point…

Once into Mexico, it’s only about a one minute walk…

Turn left and here’s his office…

Sergio has a nice two chair facility where he provides very good services (he’s a dental surgeon) at very good prices compared to the United States. In my case a checkup and cleaning was $20. Such a deal!. Here he is with his dental assistant…

I’m all set dental-wise (hopefully) for another year. Sergio told me that for an old guy, I’ve still got really good teeth!  🙂

About a one minute walk back to the border crossing to re-enter the United States.

Yesterday was a totally cloudless day…hence a cloudless sunrise…

And a cloudless sunset…

Yesterday was a sunny day at 72 degrees.  Forecast for today is sunny and 69 degrees.

The red dot on the below map shows our approximate location in the State of California. You may double left-click the map to make it larger…

Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!

Thanks and same to you, Cuz. Please tell your mom and dad that some of my favorite memories as a small child was Christmas Eve’s at the DiPaola Home…before you were born! 🙂

  2. What is the “no cameras” zone? Just part of the crossing area, or on into Mexico? Do you know why?

    Virtual hugs,

The U.S. Custom Service does not want any photographs of their security efforts. Merry Christmas!
