The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Birch Bay RV Resort in Blaine, Washington. This location marks the furthest northern most point of our planned 2014 travels. I’ve been here several times over the years and always enjoy the area. Our departure date is set at August 12th.
Yesterday I drove the Bronco the 5 miles to Marine Drive in Blaine, Washington so we could do some photography. We were here the same time of the year in 2009.
Here are a few of the photos that I took. First stop was at Blaine Marine Park where Mary got to hug Shamu…
As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…
Look behind Shamu and you will see a whole bunch blackberry bushes. In 2009 these bushes were abundantly heavy with huge tasty berries. Yesterday found them not so abundant or big, but every bit as tasty…
Mary loves blackberries and dove into the bushes to get those critters…
Here’s her reward…
Then to the dock at the end of Marine Drive. Across the entrance to Drayton Harbor you can see the end of Semiahmoo Spit and the old cannery building which I blogged two days ago…
From the dock the Peace Arch at the United States/Canada border can be seen in the distance. We went there after the visit to the dock…you get to read about it in tomorrow’s blog…
A watercolor photo of the old cannery building in the center with the red colored roof…
The seagulls were very cooperative about having their photos taken…
