Thousand Trails Lake Minden RV Resort – Nicolaus, California

Mary is traveling with her 14-year-old grandson on a trip to Turkey. I expect her to catch up with me sometime in mid-May somewhere in Oregon.

Yesterday I drove the 97 miles from Manteca to Nicolaus, California. Most of the trip was on Interstate Highway 5. I have not driven this stretch of I-5 in many years as I normally drive California Highway 99 through this area of California. Yesterday however, I-5 was more convenient. The reason I prefer 99 over I-5 is that it has lesser, slower moving traffic with fewer 18-wheelers.

This first photo below illustrates this. Here you get a unique driver view. The roadway ahead, my rear-view camera monitor and by looking in the rear view mirror you can see some of the traffic volume…

Along the way I stopped at the Sacramento 49er Truck/RV Wash. I like to give the vehicles a twice-a-year thorough wash and this is a convenient location at a fair price. The washers are all Mexican who are hard workers and do a very good job. The whole process takes only about 20 minutes and I get the motorhome, including the roof, and Bronco really clean for only $47…

In this first photo you can see an 18-wheelers in the bath process…

Yesterday was a sunny day at 94 degrees. Forecast for today is sunny at 93 degrees. Too dang hot! I’ll continue my journey north later this morning.

Enjoying nice weather is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!

Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!
