Espanola, New Mexico

March 1, 2014

The motorhome is parked at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon RV Resort in Acton, California. Mary is at home attending to personal matters. I expect to leave here on Monday. I am scheduled to arrive there on March 5th.

California has been in an extended drought, but this week back to back winter storms starting three days ago and ending Sunday will bring lots of much-needed rain to the area. I’m in a comfortable place to ride out the storms.

I’ve had a change of plans. Last September during my eye exam at the Seattle, Washington VA Hospital I was told I have a large cataract in my right eye that should be attended to in the next year. It’s always been difficult getting to that VA Hospital, so I’ve made arrangements to change to a local VA Clinic in Sonora, California…about 25 miles from Mary’s home. My appointment to meet my new primary care doctor is on March 7th who will make the necessary arrangements to have my eye problem corrected.

A more relaxed mode..

After our 682 day on-the-go 2011-2013 circumnavigation of the United States, we have decided to slip into a more relaxed mode. In the next few months we will be traveling through areas previously explored. Unless we do something unusual, this Blog will feature a photo album from the circumnavigation and will change daily.

  1. Awe, Espanola, home of the beastly Lowriders….Tis my home town and love it;however, they are still back in the OLD TIMES and are bless to be surrounded by Native Americans’ territory, so we can’t grow like a big city and in reality I like our little space! Northern New Mexico is simply breathtaking and far better than the area after Albuquerque. Have fun and be safe!~
