My sister, Dawn, died yesterday after struggling with cancer. This is her high school graduation picture. img005Dawn%27s%20first%20Communion%20at%20Hardwood. (Copy)

Her first communion. Families mostly took pictures on special occasions.

We didn’t have a family picture taken until Dawn was married and had four children of her own.  In front is Norman, Mark, on Dad’s lap, Clark on Mom’s lap, and Dan.

Mark died at age 50 in 2005. Dan died at age 59 in 2002. It is hard to lose siblings. But, I’ve discovered that those we lose are never gone. They stay with us always. I am thankful for remembrance of the times we shared.

  1. Mary, our thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose a revered sibling and I think of him everyday. We will forever be grateful to you and Jim for all of your help and concern. May The Lord give you comfort that only He can give during this time. Blessings from Carolyn Crowe Ibele.

Thank you so much. We had an unforgettable bond. I’ll never forget him either.

Hard to lose anyone close to you. They both died far too young!

  5. I have no siblings, but feel sadness for those who lose someone who must feel like a part of you. Dawn, and your other siblings, would no doubt wish you to enjoy your life as much as possible as a tribute to them. We can “do” for others, even when they are gone.

Thank you. I just talked to her daughter and she said it was time. And we all kind of understand that because death is part of life, harder for we on the sidelines.

Mary, So sorry to hear of Dawn’s passing. I remember her====thought she looked so much like your mom.  I know her memory will be always with you—-special people always do! Just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you with much love & symphony.      Toni

Thanks Toni. I’ve been trying to get to everybody. It is a long list. And memories are key, to all.
