Yesterday I drove the motorhome the about 60 miles from Ashland to Superior, Wisconsin.
We continued traveling along U.S.Highway 2 West.
Just outside of Ashland we stopped to visit the Northern Great Lakes Visitors Center which depicts life in this part of the country. You can read about this place by clicking this link… http://nglvc.org/
I particularly enjoyed the black and white photos…

In Superior we stopped at the Richard Bong Veterans Historical Center. Richard Bong was born and raised just a few miles east of Superior in Poplar, Wisconsin which we passed through yesterday. He is America’s all time air ace. In World War II he flew 207 missions in 157 days and recorded 40 kills. As a test pilot for the new jet-powered P-38, he crashed and died at the age of 24. Here’s the official link for the Veterans Historical Center… http://www.bvhcenter.org/
Richard flew only P-38’s…
We spent an enjoyable two hours visiting this place.
We parked overnight in the city park adjacent to the center which can be seen in the distance…
Here’s the usual dinette window photo…
A fairly decent day yesterday with temperatures in the mid 70’s and 62% humidity,
We’ll continue our westward travel later this morning.
Enjoying Veterans Historical Centers is another joy in the life of a full-time RVer!
The red dot on the below map shows our approximate location in the State of Wisconsin. You may double left-click the map to make it larger…
Enjoying 65-75 degree temperatures with low humidity most of the year is a primary joy in the RVing lifestyle!
