California Highway 49

California Highway 49 commemorates the 1849 Gold Rush which so changed California back in those days. It presents to all who come…the Heart of Gold Country. My current camping spot at Thousand Trails Ponderosa RV Resort is on Highway 49 in Lotus and only one mile from Sutter’s Mill where gold was discovered in California on January 24, 1848.
