The Last Wilderness…The Ultimate Swamp Tour

Jim says: That’s what Dean Wilson calls his tour on his brochure. Yesterday Mary and I took our second swamp tour in Louisiana. On our first tour we saw lots more wildlife and on this tour we saw lots more interesting trees. The major difference that I enjoyed was this smaller boat which only holds six passengers and allowed us to “really go into the depths of the swamp”. The tour lasted two hours and was most enjoyable. We went late in the afternoon at 4:30 PM and the late afternoon lighting made for some great pictures. Dean has lived in this area for 26 years.

We got to see a lot of second growth Cyprus Trees and the stumps of the old growth when the swamp was clear-cut 75-100 years ago.
