Yesterday was a day of rest…kinda sorta…

Jim says: We departed the American Legion and drove about 25 miles South. Along the way we stopped at a Love’s Truck Stop, dumped our gray and water tanks and filled our fresh water tank. A few miles later we stopped at a WalMart Super Center to shop for groceries. It has a very large and quiet parking lot so we decided to spend the night here.

Mary has been asking me to help her transfer some photos from her computer to CD’s for her grandkids…so that’s how we spent part of our day. Then some reading, napping, etc…

Mary flies out of New Orleans for her home in California next Tuesday. She’ll be there for about five weeks and then fly to meet me in Asheville, North Carolina on May 4th. Before she leaves we have an Atchafalaya Swamp Tour later today, two plantation visits and one final day in New Orleans. Our swamp tour departs from Bayou Sorrel along the Eastern levee of the Atchafalaya Basin. I doubt that there’s a cell phone signal out there, so you may not hear from us tomorrow.

This Google Earth image shows the big picture…

Time goes by when you’re having fun. We must be having fun as it’s really hard to believe we’re near finishing eight weeks in Louisiana. It’s a lousy job, but someone’s got to do it!
