We Depart Farmington, New Mexico…Separately…
June 19, 2012
We arrived here yesterday afternoon and parked in a free downtown parking lot…
As always you may left click upon an image to see an enlarged view and then click once again to see an even larger view…
Kind of neat to find a large, free parking area a very short distance from the Main Street…
Mary’s Albuquerque Airport Shuttle will park directly in front of our motorhome at 6:45 AM this morning and depart at 7:00 AM…
The was the view from our dinette window…
Mary is returning home to California to host a July 4th family reunion and attend to other business,,,I hope to get her back by August 1st.
It was 96 degrees here yesterday at 5,200 feet of elevation, so I’ll be taking the motorhome to higher ground for cooler temperatures. I’ll be driving the about 130 miles to Heron Lake State Park at 7,200 feet of elevation where the temperature was 81 degrees yesterday.
I’m expecting to stay there a couple of weeks to continue my rest and recuperation from out May 27th accident. From there, who knows…except I’ll be seeking those cooler temperatures.

” Site #15, Willow Creek CG, Heron Lake State Park”
We left Heron Lake yesterday for El Vado Lake. We have a Progressive EMS and it constantly cut off our power due to low voltage, which the camp host said has been an ongoing problem there. The only ones who can run their AC are those with an Autoformer to boost the voltage. Also it was 85 when we left there yesterday afternoon, and with no shade we really wanted to use the AC. It has not been a problem here at El Vado. The highs are predicted to be 87-88 over the next week. Just thought you might want to know.
Thanks for your message, but I ran my AC yesterday without any problems.
I wasn’t clear. You can run your AC and we could too. However, the voltage was too low for the good health of your compressor.
We could have turned off the EMS and run AC all day. However, voltage was never better than 109 with nothing turned on. When I kicked on the AC it would drop to a 100 volts or lower.
Hi Jim, Thanks for your message. I called the manufacturer and they told me the air conditioner should not be run with less than 108 volts. With the AC and everything else running my voltage is reading 110.1.
Three people that I met at Heron including the camp host at Blanco are using autoformers to boost power. Of course, you can run your ac and risk damage to the compressor.
Good luck on the cooler temperatures, as with last year, those in the know are saying another long, hot summer, just like last year. It has already started.
