Aztec Ruins National Monument – Aztec, New Mexico

Yesterday we drove the motorhome the about 60 miles from Durango, Colorado to the Cottonwood Campground at Navajo Lake State Park at Navajo Dam, New Mexico.

It’s a fascinating set of Anasazi ruins. Get you wondering how much different the environment in that area must have been when they were thriving.
Still, Mesa Verde (what little of it I saw) and the more obscure cliff dwellings hold a more alluring lore to them.
Be sure to check out Chaco Canyon if you can.
